“Hole in the Wall Vegan Hippie Paradise”
Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

Like walking into "the open kitchen" of the 1970s, this restaurant is the real deal.
50 pound bags of organic tamale flour stacked high with Mexican day of the dead costumes hanging from them. Radical stickering on the posts, cool vibes, great specials, not pretentious. Really good healthy on planet earth for humans!!
Sweet, friendly, thoughtful wait persons willing to pause and chat.
Local foods, veggie or vegan.
Try the fried avocado taco and a black Molly tamale. Great thick homemade tostadas, 2 table top salsas which were really good.
The chocolate chipotle cake was Rick, moist and fascinating!
It's in a funky neighborhood next to the Latino Center and not too hard to find.
Worth the trip!

“Worth seeking out!”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

My husband and I are not vegan but do watch what we eat. We prefer organic food which is not so easy to come by.

This little place got some rave reviews and awards so we thought we would give it a try on a recent visit to Houston. It is a little drive from the city central but well wroth it. The restaurant is very unassuming; quiet, comfortable, friendly but certainly no frills. It hardly mattered with the welcome we received and the genuine passion for the food and explanations of the dishes and help in ordering.

We ordered lots of things to share and everything was tasty. We did not order anything with 'replacement' vegan options ie. no cheese etc.

Radical Eats was quite a find and we will be back. It represents good value for money. Despite the very ordinary little place that it presents as, the ambience is wonderful, the welcome sincere and the clientele just like us really - wanting to enjoy a good, quiet and healthy meal.

“Who knew Mexican food could be vegan”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

I've been here several times. I love the fact that this place is in the "hood". There fried avocado tacos are super delish and their chipotle black bean tamale is nice and spicy. Potato soup is oh so good. You can't go wrong regardless what you order.
