“The best deli in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

Phoenicia Speciality Foods Downtown is one of the best delis I've visited in a long time. There's an excellent selection of food available with a definite Mediterranean influence. Many of the items are difficult to find elsewhere and the choice available in some sections is unbelievable. The salad bar and the olive bar are outstanding and there is usually a choice of three to four hot soups available. This place gets very busy at lunchtime as office workers flock in to buy their lunch at the hot food section. Can't praise this place enough. Phoenicia also have a bigger location out on Westheimer.

“Very boring atmosphere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

Boring atmosphere in a strip mall and the food is nothing special. Buffet style food served. Can't believe they are rated so high.

“Great store to pick up items while away from home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

It's a great fine foods store that was a convenient walk from my business centre hotel. Was able to get wine and good foodie snacks for my stay in Houston. Good selection and pricing.

“You'll love light menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

try the hummus with a draft beer. Or you can buy anything in market and bring it into the restaurant. You can see locals and visiting celebrities. It's fun!!

“Exotic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

A welcome addition. Mediterranean salad is good value, and a break from the usual Tex-Mex and barbecue that I usually find in Houston. Fascinating groceries from around the world, focused on the Mediterranean basin, and an eclectic selection of wines. Certainly gives the New York City exoticas a run for their money--Arabian Nights meets Whole Foods.
