Before you go, call and make sure that nobody has reserved the Aquarium portion for a special event during the time you plan to be there. If they have, you will not get to see it. We got hosed by such a scenario when we went, not having any idea that it was even an option for the place to be rented out and closed to the public. Only got to see the stingray exhibit, which is separate from the main aquarium, and then rode some of the rides outside. Parking and rides set our family of three back about $50. Waits were long, but it was the middle of summer.

I was unable to get any handicap parking for my elderly mother, everything was full. I asked the attendant where to park and he just said it's all full here and walked away. We entered the lot and not only were all the regular spaces gone, but also cars were making up spaces along the curbs etc, making navigation extra hard. We finally parked in about the farthest away space there is in the lot. Waste of $7 right off the bat.

After we walked to the aquarium, it was really crowed with narrow hallways. We spent most of our time trying not to get our feet stepped on. This place is way smaller than the last aquarium we visited in Monterey, California.

I am very disappointed and would not recommend this attraction to anyone ever.

The four tigers on display at the Houston Downtown Aquarium have NO outdoor space. They NEVER go outside!

The aquarium was a little hard to find. Parking is paid but close. This is downtown so of course you need to plan around peak traffic hours. This is a nice, clean aquarium with a great variety of fish. The sting-ray exhibit is hands (or I should say "2 fingers" on) exhibit. I enjoyed watching the beautiful, healthy tiger. There a few rides outside, ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and train that takes you to the sharks.

We were here for a family member's medical needs and had some extra time so we came here. There is not a lot of value for the cost of the ticket. The aquarium is small and there is an extra cost for "The Reef". Sounds great, right? Not really, it consists of a small pool with stingrays swimming around in it. The Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi is much larger and for the cost of the ticket, you get a larger pool of stingrays and another with sharks and everything within the aquarium is accessible for one fee that is much less than the Houston aquarium. It was very disappointing.
