“Great business stay, but pricey”
Reviewed July 22, 2012 via mobile

Great hotel for a business stay, roomy, comfortable work space in the room. The hotel did break my pet peeve...no free wireless Internet in the room! Also, the business center is operated by a shipping company which is good because you can buy some emergency supplies like notecards and sharpies, but bad because you can only use the desktop computers for free if you are printing a boarding pass. Still this is a great hotel to hold a large conference in. Just don't forget your own laptop and 3G connection.

I stayed in Hilton Americas for almost 3 months for a business trip in Houston, and I almost become a part of Hilton Americas' family :-)

The hotel staffs are amazing, friendly, and very helpful. During my stay, I made several friendship with the hotel staffs including: Mayre, Carlos, Daniel, Fredi, Modesto, etc.
Mayre Guidos (Restaurant Manager) is super friendly to the customer. She would walk around and talk with the customer during breakfast or dinner time, and she is amazingly nice and friendly, and most important she is very sincere and committed to provide the best service to hotel guests.

The hotel also provide free shuttle within 3 miles (or downtown area), and they are willing to pick you up as well within these 3 miles. Fredi and Modesto are super friendly shuttle drivers that will take you around and ensure your safety as their highest priority.

The workout room is excellent with all new and complete equipments from cardio to weight training. The Olympic swimming pool is fantastic and has super clean and clear water.

The hotel is committed to meet, if not, exceed your expectation during the stay.
Thank you Hilton Americas for your great service.

The Hilton was one of the better I've stayed in. They had great food, clean and comfortable rooms, and decent service. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it met my expectations. The food for our conference and at the restaurant was very good, but it was expensive. The service didn't quite live up to my expectations - they seem a little aloof, but that's Houston expectaions.

Stayed here for a conference and the hotel is in a great location. Connected to the convention center and within 4 blocks of multiple restaurants and a mall. The lobby is impressive, especially the bar area. We said it looks like a villains underground headquarters with the world map behind the bar. Stayed for 3 nights and looking forward to the next convention so I can stay there again!

The hotel has an impressive lobby. It has excellent conference facilities and is well staffed. The rooms are modern and well kept as well as being very clean. It is a perfect hotel for business, but is quite far from anywhere. The hotel is almost adjacent to both the Toyota Center and Minute Maid Park Stadium. I had a great stay.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Americas for four nights. I was in town for a business conference. This was one of the best properties I've ever stayed at and the conference was served by the staff as well as I've ever seen. The hotel is nice and clean. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly, from the front desk, to the restaurant, to the housekeepers to the banquet staff. Very impressive. They have been trained well.

The room was comfortable and well lit and had most of the amenities you would need. One downside to the rooms is that there was no refrigerator. But the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet even though the hotel was pretty full.

On the down side, on three different floors, none of the vending machines were fully functional. That's not a big deal, but it did factor in one fairly significant way. The hotel does not provide bottled water in the rooms. The water out of the tap in the bathroom was lukewarm. And, as mentioned, there was no refrigerator. So, if you want cool drinking water, you're at the mercy of the vending machines.

The hotel was a bit on the pricey side, so even though it was very nice, it may not be a good option for budget travelers. And then when you add the fact that breakfast is not included, other properties (notably the Embassy Suites across the street) start to look like better options financially.

Also, the hotel is handicapped a bit by its location. I found that there isn't much going on downtown after 5 PM and there aren't many (any) reasonably priced restaurants downtown that are open for dinner. So if you're without transportation, plan on spending a good bit on meals. But if you need to be downtown (e.g., especially for an event at the convention center) it is a very convenient location. And it seemed to be a relatively safe location, as well.

All in all, my experience was great. But it was a little pricey and there are limited options for meals or other things to do outside the hotel. So, overall, I can just rate it four stars even though, if you don't mind the price and need to be downtown, it is a super option.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side give you a view of downtown. Rooms on the east give you a view of the park b...

Typical big conference hotel. Attentive staff, clean rooms quite simply put a good place to stay while doing business in the downtown Houston area. The hotel is also conviently located near both the Toyota Center and Minute Maid Park Stadium. I really don't have any complaints. Just found the place quite average overall. The location was great because we were in Houston for a trade show at the adjacent George Brown Convention Center. You can walk through a connecting walkway to access the convention center. As expected the food available at the hotel property restaurants is average at best with the exception of the steak house, Spencers for Steak. Which was good.
