“Excellent Bar-B-Que”

The lean sliced brisket here is great. We also like the link sausage. Their beans and cole slaw are also above average. The restaurant is very popular so expect long lines but the counter staff is very efficient so the line moves quickly. We would prefer that they would provide paper plates. Instead you must eat your meat on butcher paper.

“Best of Two Good Choices on Highway 290”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2012

Personally, I prefer Rudy's to Goode Company that is few miles up the road toward Cypress. When I read TripAdvisor I am usually comparing one place vs others so assuming you do the same I will explain the difference. Both restauarants have totally awesome Texas style BBQ (is there really any other type?) and everything you order will be 5 star. Rudy's however serves it old school style which means you order by the pound, they serve it on butcher paper and you eat it "family" style. Each person can of course order their own individual meals in small portions but if you are with good friends and family you can order large portions and mix it up a bit. Goode Co. is the typical one meat, two meat plate thing which is fine but for me I prefer the butcher paper route. Rudy's also has nothing but picnic tables so it great for big groups with a super nice comfortable atmosphere and tons of big screen TV's playing sports. Goode has more "four top" etc type table and at the time that I am writing this they have live music outside on Friday evenings. Again, not counting the live music advantage, I prefer Rudy's atmosphere. Enjoy!

“More Please”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2012

This place blew me away. I'm not usually a big carnivore, but I literally did not want to waste space in my stomach with vegetables that could have been filled with more ribs. I loved the laid back atmosphere, the beer trough, the condiment bar, the butcher paper, everything. But of course, the meat was the show-stopper. I wish there was a Rudy's where I live!

“Don't miss the breakfast tacos”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2012 via mobile

Good BBQ for a decent price. I haven't found anything that I didn't like. For an added bonus, try the breakfast tacos. Take a bag of these to work and you'll be more popular than the guy who brought taquitos from that orange burger place.

Gotta love the ribs...even the quirkiness of being part petrol station makes it fun
