My son loved this place. He didn't want to leave. The experience was great and educational inside and out. Outside was almost like a mini water park. If you go to Houston you must visit this. You may run into bad traffic if you're not staying downtown but it's well worth it to see your kid have so much fun.

Except enough parking spots, it has everything needed! We took our 7yrs old& 20 months old here. The think tank & cyber chase were my older ones fav! little one enjoyed the totspot (But I think the staff there can b a little more friendly!) & little flow station. Kids go crazy for kiddo polis also, where they can actually work & earn! My son learnt how a news channel works..There was a small Lego carbuilding station in the ground floor. Legofans will b here for awhile. There is a power tower to climb, so a little excercise for those body muscles as well! For parking I would suggest to go & park a block away from this place. It's cheaper there & more covered parking spots! Overall a superhit for all younger kids!

If you have children under the age of 10, this is such a fantastic place...and if you have children older than 10, they would probably love it too!

Here is a link to their website:

They have all kinds of activities geared around children of ALL ages. They also have special activities based on the season. In October they have a costume party, and it is so much fun seeing all the kids all dressed up. If it's warm enough, make sure your child has a bathing suit. They have an outdoor water-area, and although the kids don't actually swim, they play with toys that get them wet. They also have a place outside where you can watch chicks hatch from eggs.

** They have free street parking across the street from the museum, along all the streets that cross Binz (Crawford, Jackson, etc) *** I paid for parking the first 4 times I went before I realized this.

They have a park right across the street, within walking distance, where you can have a picnic. They also have a reasonably priced grill-type eatery inside the Children's Museum, and everything is catered to the kids. They have hot dogs and pizzas and chicken nuggets...

We had my daughter's 3rd birthday party here, and it was such a fantastic idea. You choose a handful of areas you want the party guides to take the children, and they spend 10 minutes or so at each area. They provide decorations, and you're allowed to bring in your own food. It was relatively inexpensive for everything it provided.

The Children's Museum of Houston is right next door to Health Museum, which is a great place to also stop if you have children above the age of 5 (but especially older kids). They are within walking distance. This is the kind of place that my daughter never got tired of. We had a membership. so we'd go every weekend I was off. She never got bored. There is just so many things to do, it's hard to fit it all in a couple of hours. You will get tired before they will! The only problem with the museum is that it can get very crowded. The kids don't ever care, but it can get overwhelming with so many children running around. On Thursday they offer free admission in the afternoon, and on Friday a lot of area school's do field trips to the museum. Those were always the days I went somewhere else! But if you are visiting Houston, or just live in Houston or in the surrounding area, this museum is just something you have to do. Your kids will love it!
