Love animals, love zoos! This is one of the much better zoos I have visited. Animals cared for, nice exhibits. Fairly descent shaded area to get out of sun, which is important living in Houston with heat.

This zoo is phenomenal! Coming from a city where the zoo isn't very good, I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Houston Zoo. My first visit was to see Zoo Lights - phenomenal. My second was to see everything in the day time; the giraffes and elephants were the most entertaining!

Has great attractions, shows and exhibits. You have the change to feed the giraffes for a small fee which I was so excited about!

Recently moved back to Houston, and was surprised that for military personnel and dependents are no longer free admission, we still got a very nice discount for the whole family. They are trying hard to keep the animals clean and their environment. We were able to enjoy most of animals as weather was perfect for us, not hot not muggy.

The Houston zoo has many great attractions - the seal show, primates, exhibits, Safari animals, kids can even feed a giraffe! Decent food, gift shops. Adjacent to Hermann Park which has boats and a train ride.
