The zoo is always fun. But man is it getting expensive! at $13 a pop you might want to save up before bringing a large group of people. While there are a lot of varieties of animals in this zoo, most of them will be sleeping off the heat of the day - somewhere you simply cannot see them. This place is also very crowded and once you loose your party it's almost impossible to find them again. That being said, the animals that you DO get to see are cool enough to keep you comming back despite it all. My personal fave (and since they have no where to hide you can always see them) are the hoved animals.

"If you've seen one zoo, you've seen them all." - Not true of Houston's Zoo.

The layout made it very easy to take breaks in between sections and we enjoyed the shady spots throughout the zoo. The exhibits were clean and well maintained.

Be sure to spend the money to feed the giraffes. My kids can say they've done something very few people have ever done. It was so cool!

The kids are excited from the minute they walked thru the gate until they collapsed in the car on the way home. The Zoo is well kept and clean. Of course it gets really crowdwd during the weekend but, I attempt to try to go during midweek wich is quiet and allows more time for the kids to view and show you the important things they see. Hard to beat the value for the time you spend.

I visited the zoo as a fall back plan having not been able to carry on with my original plan for the day. I was expecting to be there for an hour or so but ended up spending the best part of the day there. There are a lot of animals, the enclosures are very well kept and everybody is very friendly. The 3D show very good. Overall money well spent!
