Looked up houston zoo on the Internet as we in Houston for a few days. Looked good to kill a few hours, also noticed it offered free entry to military personal. We decided to go and have a look.. Once we got the the ticket booth refused to offer the free entry to myself as I was not US military. I pointed out that on the website it said active military duty personal. I presented my active duty pass but still refused. Also ticket attendant refused to get there manager. I emailed houston zoo reference this and had no replies. Very disappointed with the zoo as everywhere else in Texas offered the same discounts to British military as they did to US military. The zoo itself was ok, quite small enclosures for the animals and the wire for the enclosures meant most of the time you couldn't take any photos. All in all if you want to visit a zoo in Texas go to San Antonio or Dallas.
