The Houston Zoo is well organized. The Flamingos are next to the wonderful birds, and stork who has its own cage. The chimpanzees new home is in the African part of the zoo-it's easy to get around and see everything.

It's just a huge, rambling place ..and near the Herman Park and train, SO much to do in this area.
But I strongly recommend visiting it in winter - there are many wonderfully mild, cool days.

We visited with reservation having been to a couple big zoos. We were pleasantly surprised, it was not too big and well maintained. We had a fun day and saw most of the zoo, took some good photos and all. Lunch was not bad and cheaper than I expected for an attraction location.

The zoo is very interesting and fun! I took some of my friends from Chicago, IL to visit the zoo and they were amazed. The train ride was the most interesting. The next time, I would love to take on the paddle boat ride!!!
