Wow-we were impressed with the Magnolia! Clean-well appointed rooms-EXCEPTIONAL service from all hotel employees-fabulous breakfast buffet in the mornings, can't say enough good things about our 3 night stay!! Convenient, quiet downtown location, great restaurants in the area. Only downside was $28/overnight parking.

Stayed here on a friend's recommendation and I am very happy. I have stayed at the Hyatt and Hilton but I like the Magnolia much better. Incredibly convenient for downtown downtown activities (theater district, Minute Maid Park, Toyota Center). Only a few blocks from the light rail line so it's easy to reach the museum district, Hermann Park, and the zoo as well. And as others have said, the rooftop pool and hot tub are great and offer a terrific view.

Our family stayed here for 2 nights and had a good experience all around. Nice rooms with comfortable furnishings, updated bathrooms and decor, and a fabulous view. High-end details like Gilchrist & Soames toiletries and a great shower helped. Breakfast was included and was pretty good, not awesome but met all of our needs (another reviewer wrote about the eggs being sub-par; it's true). The lounge area on the second floor was a great place to have a glass of wine in the evening, and everything looked beautiful for Christmas. We used the hot tub each night before bed on the roof, which was a perfect way to end the day.
The parking was expensive so we chose instead to go for the lot across the street, which costs only $15 for 12 hours (as opposed to $24 valet at the hotel). You can also park right on the street for free at night, until 7 a.m.
Great location. We walked around to the park (great food trucks there, just a few blocks away) and went to dinner at Hearsay, a 5 minute walk away and highly recommended.
The holiday pricing was very reasonable too so we felt like we got a nice hotel experience at a great price. Recommend.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors have great views over the city.

My wife and I were connecting through Houston which required an overnight stay; we generally stay near the airport but this time we decided to stay downtown. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are amazing. The only downside is the $55 taxi ride to get there, but that said it has a great location with lots of restaurants within 2-3 blocks. Definitely on our "stay again" list. If you have time, I highly recommend tis hotel. Friendly staff, happy hour with some free drinks, and very clean. The bed is one of the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever slept in; definitely worth a try if you've never stayed here.

The hotel was great. Really enjoyed the happy hour and nightly cookies. Staff was really friendly and helpful. The view from the roof was amazing. The food was good as well. Can't wait to go back again.

Very beautiful and charming hotel with comfortable rooms and polite staff. The rooms are tasteful and have everything guests need without crowding. The bathrooms are especially beautifully done, although the tubs are a little deep for a short person. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to stay at the Magnolia again. The only drawback was the parking. It was expensive and the valet was very slow fetching the car.
