Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, quiet room. Super comfortable beds. Convenient to downtown hotspots. *The* place to stay after a baseball game, night on the town, special occasion, or themed pub crawl!

Tagged along with my husband on a business trip. We were greeted by a most friendly staff. Fitness center and pool was totally awesome!! Walking distant to restaurants and even shopping!

This was my first stay at the Magnolia. I found it to be a very comfortable, ordinary downtown hotel. The lobby is very nice but the rooms are small. The furniture there is dark & heavy, as was my general impression of the room. It was clean and nothing was broken, but the desk and other woodwork needed the wear marks touched up. If your dad stayed here he would be in a very familiar setting. The TV is old fashioned, not flat screen, and it wasn't possible to hook in personal electronic gear, laptop, etc. Don't come here for "style."

My only real complaint was being unable to get the room cooled off - working all afternoon at the desk with the AC set on high, I was sweating, and even with it having been on all day long it was not cool enough for me when I went to bed.

The staff is very responsive and friendly and the breakfast buffet is a nice touch. The free wireless internet service worked fine with good speed, and the check-in/check-out was a breeze.

Bottom line - if the rate you are paying looks good, you'll be safe here.

Very close to Minute Maid field, convention centre and other downtown locations. Lots of VERRY VERRY good restuarants within blocks. Only a $9 cab ride to the arts district or you could take the train just a block away.

Verry good good hotel with great service. Read some other reviews and they said rooms were small. Not sure what they talked about we had a kingsize bed and lots of room plus a large bathroom.

Good car service. Highly recomed it and would stay here any time.

Extremely friendly staff, great location, nice room. Negatives: slow elevators, AC didn't really cool our room sufficiently and the pillows were uncomfortable. Not enough negatives to keep us from staying there again. They made our anniversary very special!

The rooms are beautiful and clean, and the beds are comfortable. The happy hour (2 complimentary glasses of beer, wine, or soda for hotel guests) was a nice start to the evening. We also enjoyed the cookies & milk buffet, which also had coffee, and there was a band playing in the lounge later in the evening. Great view of Minute Maid Park from the rooftop. The complimentary breakfast was good, but not over-the-top. The complimentary part included pancakes, pastries, oatmeal, cereal, and yogurt, but if you wanted any kind of protein you had to pay extra (I think an omelet was $6). We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely make a return visit.

This was my first stay with the Magnolia and I was very impressed. Hotel is very clean and well appointed. The atmosphere was very comfortable. My room was spotless. Heavy velvet curtains made the room very dark which is great for sleeping. There were numerous electrical outlets throughout the room, which made it easy to charge and use numerous electronic devices. The Magnolia car service drove me to and from work every day, including a short errand downtown, and I never waited more than 5-10 minutes to be picked up. Staff is very courteous, helpful and seemed to go out of their way to assist my needs. I appreciate having a restaurant/lounge on site so when pressed for time it is not necessary to leave the property to have a meal or cocktail. All in all, I had an excellent stay and I highly recommend.
