I have eaten at Artisan's several times since the second month it was open. The food is very good and the consistency is terrific. It has a very nice fairly modern French menu, an interesting and affordable wine list and the service is attentive but low key. Ask to sit at the chef's counter - a very large semi circular counter that seats around 30 and surrounds the kitchen - hence the name since you get to see the artisans at work. This has become one of my favorite restaurants in Houston and everyone I have introduced to it agrees that it is one of the best in the city.
