When my husband told me we were having Asian food for our first night in Houston, I said, "What?! I didn't come to Houston to eat sushi!" I decided just to go with the flow, and not put up a fight. We started with their version of an Old Fashioned, which we didn't realize we're made with Saki instead of Bourbon, until about four drinks in. We ordered some edamame and miso soup as a safe start. The edamame were grilled and had a nice flavor to them. They were also not overcooked, which seems to happen a lot at other establishments. We ordered several items, and some twice. We ordered the uchiviche (there version of ceviche), machi cure smoke baby yellowtail (fabulous), the pork jowl ( out of this world amazing and rich), grilled mackral Saba shio...walu walu...bacon otoshi...and the flounder special. It was quite a night of food ecstacy...one we won't soon forget.
