I've stopped in here for a pre-dinner drink quite a few times, and I never get a table! People stay at their tables for hours here, and for good reason. The drinks are good, made with care. The mojito, though a cliche/classic, is really really amazing. But don't stop there, because they have a very eclectic and imaginative cocktail list.

Parking is limited, you kind of have to park on the neighborhood streets. Double check that you're not in a towaway zone because that is NOT worth it.

I stopped in while staying in Houston with a friend. I had never tried absinthe so I figured that was a good enough reason to get the Battle of New Orleans. The drink was incredible and I loved the ambiance of the place. Would definitely recommend it to anyone in the Houston area.

We stopped by the Anvil Bar and Refue on Westheimer on Saturday evening, July 6th after having dinner for my wife's birthday. Have read about the place and thought we would give it a try. Excellent drinks and lively crowd. Kenny, the bartender, was excellent on both recommendations and making the drinks. The drink menu has many, many choices to choose and will try others on our next visit.

Highly recommend. Excellent drinks for a reasonable price. Not sure what others are complaining about the price. Many other restaurants and bars in Houston charge a lot more for a single drink than the Anvil. I would highly recommend this place for any occasion.

The drink selection is plentiful and interesting. The Nitro Cube Libre was very tasty. However, there is limited space inside. Parking is not easy unless you opt to valet park. The food options available in the bar is less than what is listed on the menu on the website--they only had popcorn. It appears that most people just go there for one drink and then head somewhere else so we decided to follow suit.

This place has over 100 handcrafted, unique cocktails. Specializes in gin, scotch, bourbon that sort. We had 2 drinks and the bill was 20.00. Good atmosphere though and the drinks were delicious.
