“So different and so amazing”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

Totally a family run pizza place. The owners have been there every time that we have been there. It is not fancy and there is not a lot of atmosphere but the pizza rocks! The salads are incredible as well. Make sure to get a side of the hot peppers. They are unbelievable! It is nice to be able to bring your own wine and there is no cork fee. These pizzas are super thin and they should be eaten there. We have done take out and even though the pizza is still good when you get home, the crust isn't crispy like it is when it is fresh out of their imported oven. Be prepared - they use the finest ingredients which makes an expensive pizza! Especially if you go for one of the specialty pizzas (like the one with pork belly - worth the splurg!!!). Go for it! You only live once.

“this ain't no chain pizza here”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

Love this place. But i love real Italian style pizza. Sure the Americanized version can be great too.
But Pizaro's makes it old school.

Note it is BYOB so if you want vino or beer bring your own.

Nice selection of toppings.

I found the pizza to come out quick and service to be good. Owner is friendly if you talk with him a bit.

I'll be back every week.

“The best pizza in Houston!”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

This family run establishment is the REAL deal!

I love this pizzeria - the ingredients are so fresh and authentic. This is not your typical Houston pizza - thank goodness - but more like what I have had in Italy. My absolute favorite pizza is the potato and mushroom with a bit of truffle oil - delish. The caprese salad is wonderful!

Our typical dining group travels about 10-12 miles to dine at Pizaro's at least once a month. Perhaps an additional location inside the loop soon - fingers crossed!

“We didn't care for their pizza”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

We had walked by this pizzeria several times while going to Los Tios Mexican restaurant and finally decided to give it a try.

To say the least, we were disappointed. We just did not like the pizza at all.

I think the message from the owner was that we have not spent enough time in Italy to appreciate it.

But, to their credit, they did refund our money, which we appreciated.

P.S. I think our thoughts are probably somewhat similar to the other negative review on this site.
