Looked up Vietnamese food while in Houston, Texas. Found Huynh while googling Vietnamese food. Great reviews, so called a cab, and off we went. Restaurant in a strip mall...so first off, not impressed. Restaurant not crowded...another not impressed....but WOW...after those first impressions, everything skyrocketed up...way up. We ordered the special egg rolls and duck salad to start. Ordered the curry tofu and the waiter suggested we get the broccoli added to the dish. Absolutely perfect. Got the rice and egg too. Can't remember which one exactly, but I don't think you can go wrong with any dish in this restaurant. I am craving Vietnamese food right now, but nothing can compare to Huynh. We live in an area of wonderful foods...NYC...so hard to beat, but this place was really good. If I lived in Houston, I would be their best customer. Coffee...great..just like we had in San Francisco....another great city that has great Vietnamese. By the time we were half way through the meal, the restaurant got filled and people were waiting for a table. No one rushed us...really great... Loved it..

If you are looking for fancy, it does not live at Huynh. This restaurant is located in a strip center and is rather basic. The service was efficient and helpful. The place is clean, for sure.
The food was good and seemed authentic. I liked the soft spring rolls - best.
Overall, I will return and try more dishes.

Love this restaurant - we have been there many times, the food is consistently good. Lots of times we have ordered their recommendations and were always happy with it. Plus, you can bring your own bottle(s) of wine! A family business and the whole family is involved. Check out the shop next door that belongs to them also. Parking dicey when concert at Warehouse Live though.

Vibrant colors, well placed proportions and soup that stimulates your senses is what I have experienced every time that I have patronized this establishment. When you enter this restaurant, immediately you are taken by the modern decor, yet traditional artwork accents throughout to give you that feel of actually being in Vietnam. Management and staff are helpful. If you are new to Vietnamese food, the staff is knowledgeable to guide you to the meal you crave. There is plenty of seating. The restrooms are clean. The restaurant is family owned and it is evident by the family photos inside the restaurant. Bring your hunger and meet happiness at Huynh Restaurant.

Ok, this place is seriously tasty and - to top it off - reasonably priced with a good ambiance and friendly waiters. We came to Houston for a weekend of Asian food eating because our hometown of Austin is shy on Asian food. What a great way to start our weekend! When we told our waiter we were gluten-free, he got it immediately, had good recommendations to make, and checked with the chef for the ones he did not know. From the first taste of our pulled duck salad appetizer, through our #94 Mi Quang soup (what a fascinating collage of ingredients), to our tofu in chiles and lemon grass and our fried onions in steamed rice paper, this meal was a delight. We'll be back.
