I went with about 20 friends. And the service was horrible. They would forget out drinks or brought the wrong drinks. We had two waiters, guy and girl. The guy name was Nick. The girl I cant remember. But she was sooooo rude. Nick was trying to be cool. They split us up and i unfortunately had the girl. The food was fantastic. She wouldn't let us order unless everyone was ready. she was really impertinent, rude. She wouldnt give us our tickets. Some of us were combined checks and she said we had to pay individually. This is a horrible system. By the end someone didnt pay something and they wouldnt let us leave until we paid. Would not recommend this place.

We love going to Mom & Pop places and this looked like one. We tried several of the veggies and they were seasoned well and tasty. The fried shrimp and catfish were fresh and fried perfectly, but the light breading didn't have flavor. This is a low salt establishment, but you either need a little salt or some seasoning.
The chicken fried steak was not good. The breading was THICK, hard, and tasted like flour paste. The "gravy" was something more of a white sauce with a bizzare flavor.
A couple of us agreed that we probably would've been happy if we'd ordered a veggie plate.

There's really nothing special about 59 Diner. It used to have a fun environment, but over the years, it's just another late-night convenience.

This looked like a fun place, and we were looking for a place that had a breakfast option in the early afternoon, but we were truly disappointed.
My breakfast would have been good, but it arrived cool. Sorry, but a cool omelette, and for that matter cool grits and toast, just don't cut it.
My wife's "blue plate special" must have been just what they wanted to get rid of that day - tough pork chops and canned veggies.
While my adult daughter liked her shrimp plate, she said it wasn't anything special either.
And the server disappeared from time to time. That might have contributed to the food not being warm when it arrived.
