Description: Born out of a shared vision to bring affordable farm-to-table dining to Houston, restaurateur Ray Salti and Executive Chef Soren Pedersen have collaborated to create Sorrel Urban Bistro, a casually elegant, fresh design featuring an ever-changing blackboard menu of organically focused cuisine. Sorrel represents the second culinary collaboration between Salti and Pedersen, who also are partners at Ray’s Grill, a highly-lauded farm-to-table concept in Fulshear, TX, 20 miles West of Houston. In addition to a diverse daily menu selection featuring local organically grown produce and meat, sustainable fish and wild game, Sorrel offers a charcuterie bar with a wide variety of salami, sausages and prosciutto, both imported and housemade, along with artisan Texas cheeses, handcrafted breads and more. Beverage service includes seasonally inspired cocktails, artisanal beers and 200 plus wines (25 percent organic.) At Sorrel, it's about enjoying a culinary experience.

We've only eaten lunch or late afternoon snacks here. The menu is adventurous, the food is delicious, the wine is good, and the atmosphere is lovely.

I randomly selected this restaurant to go to with a client because of it's close proximity to work and it turned out to be exceptional! I have since visited about 3 times! They have different menu for each and i have tried 3 different dishes there to no regret. Their bread with oilve oil, and sun dried tomato is very tasty. Their Ashote Organic Chicken is nicely seasoned and grilled over a bed of vegetables. Very moist dish! Their Scallop dish is great, and so is the Pizza dish. The other people that i have gone with all loved their meal and some of those were Seared Shrimp over grits, Hamburger, and Steak strips. The desserts that i have tried are great and my favorite is the Apple crunch, which includes apple, granola, and a scoop of ice cream, their Tangerine Sorbet is very refreshing. I would visit again and i would recommend it to people. They have a flat screen TV in the dinning area that shows you what's going on in the kitchen - that's comforting to see what's happening that would normally be behind the scene.

My wife and I, went here on Christmas eve night. The restaurant had a limited time window that night between 5:00 & 9:00pm, probably to accommodate church goers or people heading out to parties that night.

Arrived and was pleasantly surprised. Valet took our car and we walked into a very beautiful and very functionally designed space. The bar area is on the left side as you walk in, with the dining tables on the right. Service was excellent and food was delivered very quickly. The homemade bread and locally made condiments served as a precursor to the meal, were outstanding, to the point that we both asked for more bread.

The food is prepared and uses sustainably grown products. My wife ordered the Turkey entree that night and it was incredibly amazing. It was turkey, but we have never tasted Turkey cutlets that flavorful. It was so good, we wanted to ask for the recipe. There was a locally caught fish entree and I had that. Again, flavorful, extremely tasty and wonderful choice of seasonings and preparation.

The restaurant was very nice, it has flat screen monitors on several walls, so that you can see the meals being prepared in the kitchens, that was interesting too actually get a view into the preparation process.

We recommended it to a friend who went with his wife and they loved it. This is a good place.

Located on the edge of a quiet neighborhood "inside the loop' .. warm and inviting decor with the cool modern look .. interesting menu without add challenges .. extensive wine cellar .. superb service .. lunch dinner brunch .. well worth a visit .. caveat: Can be a bit noisy at peak periods but still allows for conversation without having to shout

Excellent wine list + excellent service + the most amazing cripsy snapper ever and a guiness ginger cake--mmmm. It was amazing. Very cool interior. Not shi-shi or clubbish like some places, but an awesome choice for a birthday or group date night. Would definitely go here over many others in town.
