I don't know if the quality was poor due to the remodeling or if it is always this way but the things that were bad about the hotel were not due to remodeling alone. Staff was friendly enough but not overly helpful. They never answered the phone. The breakfast consisted of coffee, granola bars and pre-packaged muffins. None of the kitchens are stocked - you have to "check out" anything you want to use. Poor to little water pressure.

We apologize our hotel and amenities were not to your expectations. Our hotel is designed for guests staying a week or more at a time, who prefer a home-like living experience. So we certainly understand why you may have found our amenities a bit different than traditional hotels. Regardless of the length of stay, our goal is to provide a clean, comfortable and well-maintained hotel with a friendly staff at a good value. Thank you again for staying with us and we hope to welcome you back soon!

Sincerely,
Hotel Management

The window screens were hanging loose and windows were unlocked.
The back door was kept open by a rock and on further review found a piece of tape over lock to prevent door from locking and being secure. Reported to front office and nothing was done.
Before bedtime we removed rock and the tape on the door.

I was paying less than anything I found online, so I was expecting something sub par, but this hotel was much nicer than any other at the same price. I would say I got more than I paid for, and I didn't even have a discount. Comfortable beds, temperature of the room; good size shower, pretty much everything was a good size.

We were greeted with a friendly hostess (Crystal) that always has a smile and is so kind and considerate to everyone. We have been going to M.D. Andersons for 3 years. We are always greeted with friendly employees and the hotel room was very clean. It is within walking distance to the hospital and has everything you may need within a mile

Room Tip: King size rooms are great and the 3rd. floor is the quietest

The only adventage is that it is near the medical center.
1. Room with odor, it was not taken care even after I have complained about it.
2. Leaking sink that flooded the room
3. Cockroaches left dead on the floor
4. Heater smelled like smoke and actually has set the fire alarm on. I didn’t use it afterwards.

I have paid for and have right to stay in a room that is in its best condition,
or at least to be paid attention if it was not its best condition at first.
Experience here was the worst ever.
