Stayed for a couple of nights. Walking distance to Montrose bars, clubs, museum district, tram into downtown etc. lovely quiet neighbourhood with lots of restaurants nearby plus Hermann park 10 mins away. Free wifi.

The hosts are really friendly - lots of tips on the local area as they've lived there for over 30 years. Joined us for a glass of wine when we arrived on the veranda. Very enthusiastic friendly dog also there.

Once again the only place to stay is "The Palms". I've lost count of my number of stays at this wonderful establishment, but it certainly feels like coming home every time I visit Houston.
The Dynasty suite is a comfortable room in the main house, and has easy access to the front porch for people watching. Tom's breakfasts are a delight with a different menu every day, and more than enough to start the day. The location is excellent for the museum district and the many restaurants and bars in the Montrose neighbourhood.
Tom and his business partner, Rick have an abundance of knowledge about the area, and are ever willing to share this knowledge.
I shall be returning in April 2014, and it cannot come soon enough.

Room Tip: Dynasty suite in main house more than sufficient for one or two people

This B&B is well-located, near the Museum District, downtown and restaurants/nightlife. The 100 year old house is furnished with antiques, including vintage mixers, and lots of Houston memorabilia line shelves and bookcases. Our room was clean and spacious and, best of all (and unique among B&Bs), there was ample light to read in bed. Our wonderful breakfast was served by our friendly host. We were able to inspect the other 2 rooms, both of which had kitchenettes, great for long-term stays. The only potential problem is parking since the inn is located in a fairly dense residential area.

We stayed in this house in the neighborhood I'd moved away from 34 years earlier. It's a little less funky and more gentrified than when I lived there, but a great place to stay. Tom is a genial host, knowledgable about the complete history of their house, and has a collection of mixers that boggles the mind. The Montrose area is convenient to the museum district, MD Anderson medical center, and only a couple of miles from the heart of downtown. Yet the street is quiet and the house is totally charming. The Dynasty Suite was really a home away from home.

I've been travelling for 40 years and I've tried to stay in B&B's, small hotels, and inns as much as possible. Trust me I've stayed in some badly run B&B's in my years; Keepers that just didn't seem to enjoy their work. Not Tom and Richard. They offerred a clean comfortable house without the laundry list of "rules", intelligent conversation on the porch in the evenings, good recommendations for restaurants, a filling breakfast and of course Toby the Wonder Dog! We stayed in the Dynasty suite which was spacious, had a Mission-style 4-Poster bed, and provided ready access to the refrigerator in the kitchen. The house is on a quiet residential street with just about every Museum you'd want to visit within a mile radius. We stayed 4 nights but they flew by quickly...just like when staying with good friends.

Room Tip: Dynasty Suite is the best!

My friend and I stayed here for a night while we were in town for a concert. We love to stay at B&Bs when we go away, and we were not disappointed. Tom was friendly and welcoming and made us fantastic omletes in the morning. The house is cute and our bed was really comfortable. A bonus for us was we were the only guests I think and we got to meet Tom and Rick's adorable dog. It's really close to tons of great restaurants, shopping, etc.

Stayed once more at this charming B&B for 7 nights early October, and as before cannot fault the experience. The owners Tom & Rick are most welcoming and provide a more than comfortable stay with an equally adequete breakfast.
In a very interesting part of the city, and easily accessable to the many bars and restaurants in this neighbourhood of Montrose.
The decor is an eclectic mix of antiques, and family heirlooms, that certainly catch the eye and make for an interesting stay, added to by the knowledge of Tom who appears to be able to tell a tale about most of the items.
Will certainly be staying there again next year.
