Description: Brasserie 19, located in Houston’s 77019 neighborhood, offers a modern amalgamation of French brasserie fare and well-known American influences. The chef-driven menu utilizes the freshest seasonal ingredients in thoughtfully prepared dishes. Brasserie 19 boasts an expansive, carefully developed wine list dedicated to pricing just above retail – a philosophy pioneered by owners Charles Clark and Grant Cooper upon opening their first restaurant, Ibiza Food & Wine Bar. Brasserie 19's sophisticated yet unpretentious interiors are bathed in cool greys and whites, with antiqued wood and white marble used throughout. Grey leather banquettes and comfortable chairs are paired with white linen and butcher paper-covered tables create a casually elegant setting for lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch. Brasserie 19 will serve lunch and dinner 7 days a week, as well as brunch on Sundays.

I dined at B19 this past Friday with my husband and two friends. We live in the neighborhood and eat there frequently, but i have never taken the time to post a review. Better late than never.... Friday's experience was another night of great fun and food at B19. The lively atmosphere is really hard to beat. You can't help but bump into friends and acquaintances which makes for a fun evening. The service was, as always, terrific. And, the food was quite good. This is not the best French bistro you will ever run across, however, it is consistently quite good for the price. We had the mussels as an appetizer and they were perfectly done...the four of us were practically licking the bowl. I had the salmon and my husband had the steak frittes. Both were very good. The only knock on the place is the noise, but the bustling atmosphere is part of the attraction.

We had a group of six friends for Restaurant Week. All of us enjoy a good meal and none of us were disappointed.

Almost all of us had the steak tartare which was superb. The portion was very large and had the quail egg in the middle. For our main course most had the veal porterhouse which for all of us was cooked as directed and delicious.

Service was excellent and the wine list (on an iPad) was very well priced.

Have had uneven experiences on our 3 visits here. Service in the evenings is great. Lunch service is snobbish and unwelcoming.

Food is the best part. Is loud and crowded but generally wait staff in evening help it out.

General grade: Dinner - go. Lunch - go somewhere else if you want to enjoy your meal.

Ate at this Houston hot spot for the first time during Houston Restaurant Weeks. They are obviously catering to a younger crowd with loud disco type music. Great bar scene, but the food was not that great except for the orange crepes dessert which was fantastic. Veal chop was very tough, and the veggies were way too "al dente" for my liking. The decor is all white, and I thought that a little color would have helped. Of the many fantastic restaurants in Houston in this price range, this one is not at the top of my list.

Everything here was perfect! The restaurant was extremely clean, the wait staff was outstanding, the food was fresh, the beer was unique and cold. I had the escargot and seafood salad for lunch and it was great. It's a little pricy but worth it.
