“Oasis among a sea of taquerias”
Reviewed February 17, 2012

If your driving down Long Point and think you need to drive miles to find a good clean place to eat with atmosphere then think again. This small bistro style restaurant has fresh menu items, modest pricing and a clean quaint atmosphere. Menu is small but with good variety and healthy portions. Choose from salads, burgers or full entrees. Highly recommend you check out this one of a kind spot.

“Cozy Place and BYOB”
Reviewed January 23, 2012

I cannot believe this place has been here for so long and I did not know of it. Excellent food. Cozy place, and friendly staff. Small so I suggest reservations. We tried things on and off of the menu and all of the entrees were good. One of our party said his seabass was good but not great. BYOB is a super plus. Area is shady at best but well lit parking lot in front of the restaurant is adequate so no problem Strongly suggest a visit. Plus the tall guy walking around is the owner...

A lot of people will compare to La Vista on Fountainview but this is more of a fine dining menu and a much smaller place. We had salad and entrees and total bill was less than $100 for two.

(PS) Try the grits...

“BYOB with a Warning”
Reviewed December 30, 2011

This 12 table restaurant offers a good mix of seafood and steak with daily specials in addition to the menu items. From a past visit, I know the Chicken Fried steak is easily one of the best in Houston. They use a rib-eye as the basis of the CFS, instead of pounded round. The restaurant somewhat pretentiously does not put salt and pepper on the table unless it is requested. The seafood is prepared well. The grilled chicken breast, however, would be more at home in a Mexican restaurant. It is served in bowl with rice and guacamole. Really, it is not good enough to be in a Mexican restaurant. Steer clear of it.

The BYOB aspect is nice until you get the bill and notice that they charge an $8/bottle "consumption" charge. I usually don't like to spend all that much more for a bottle of wine at home and an $8 surcharge per bottle seems excessive.

“Excellent neighborhood eatery”
Reviewed December 5, 2011

We have been meaning to go to Hollister for a while since many of our friends raved about it.

We were very pleased with our meals and the ability to BYOB.

Service was superb, food was delicious.
