This 12 table restaurant offers a good mix of seafood and steak with daily specials in addition to the menu items. From a past visit, I know the Chicken Fried steak is easily one of the best in Houston. They use a rib-eye as the basis of the CFS, instead of pounded round. The restaurant somewhat pretentiously does not put salt and pepper on the table unless it is requested. The seafood is prepared well. The grilled chicken breast, however, would be more at home in a Mexican restaurant. It is served in bowl with rice and guacamole. Really, it is not good enough to be in a Mexican restaurant. Steer clear of it.
The BYOB aspect is nice until you get the bill and notice that they charge an $8/bottle "consumption" charge. I usually don't like to spend all that much more for a bottle of wine at home and an $8 surcharge per bottle seems excessive.
