“Outstanding!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

Lovely suite with plenty of room for 3 friends attending the Quilt Show. The made to order complimentary breakfast and the evening reception were excellent and meant we only purchased lunch out. Pool and hot tub were a great place to relax. This is an easy walk to the Convention Center through the park. Staff friendly and efficient. We had a little trouble getting enough coffee in the room, but we all like coffee! I would definitely stay here again.

Food quality is poor and security needs to be better so you are not harrassed by panhandlers constantly. The rooms are nice and clean, so that does say alot, but if you are looking for food, look to another hotel or resturant.

Room was very good, clean and quiet, the breakfast and manager's reception were very good. Unfortunately there is only valet parking however getting around down town is not difficult. Overall a great place to stay down town Houstin.

I recently stayed at this hotel during a very busy time. Our room was well maintained and all of the service people at the hotel were very attentive to our needs. I would definitely stay here again. It is always a bonus to have a refrigerator, cocktail hour and a free breakfast while away form home.

A huge suite with good facilities - coffee making machine, small fridge, large bathroom, very comfortable beds - great place to stay. Breakfast offered plenty of choice and the evening reception was welcome after a day at the convention centre.

I returned today from an 11 night stay at the Embassy Suites Downtown Houston. I was in town for Quilt Market and Festival at the conveniently nearby George R Brown Convention Center. The room was nicely appointed with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. The living area of the suite is dark but smartly furnished, with a functional floorplan. My first night I arrived very late and pulled back the sheets to see dark brown spots. I was too tired to speculate what it might be, they smelled clean and I slept well. The sheets were not changed for three more nights. I finally asked that they be changed. On the first night i also noticed a bit of red fuzz just inside the bathroom door and what looked like a piece of a broken pill on the floor outside the same door. I asked for the room to be vacuumed. When I left this morning both items were still in place. Replacement of the towels and convenience items was unpredictable. The breakfast is very good and except for the (sometimes very long) wait for omelets an excellent perk. The staff were always helpful and friendly. I was very frustrated with the long lines and wait times for the elevator. This is an 18 story property (20 with the two levels of underground parking only serviced by one) with three elevators. I queried a bellman waiting for the elevator if there was a service elevator that was faster and he assured me he was using the public elevators because they are much faster. On that occasion, we waited 4 minutes for an elevator. I think that if I were never in a hurry, this location would get top marks.

Room Tip: If there are events at the stadium or concerts in the park expect noise, in higher rooms less so. Co...

Hotel does not lend itself for business as there is no adequate area for having business discussions. Wifi was appalling. Rooms are spacious and clean but $300/night is too much for an Embassy Suits. Free breakfast is good when you are willing to wait in a long line before it s your turn.
