Great place to keep kids busy and take pictures. You do have to pay for parking, though. I think it was $1.50 per hour until 6.

The park is nice. We have been here a few times. My boys love it. The only problem is that is is always way too crowded. So it crowds scare you, skip this place! Otherwise, it is a great place to stop and cool off in the fountains!

There was live music open to the public the three evenings we were there.

Lots of interesting people for people watchers and diverse music during out stay.

The park is well kept and beautiful to look at.

This is a great place for fun and a place to unwind. There is something for everyone, including underground parking. I had a hand in creating this park.

I have only been to Discovery Green once and that was for the Shell Eco Car competition (my brother was competing with Louisiana Tech). I would definitely suggest this to anyone who is even remotely interested in racing, how cars are built, eco-cars/fuel, or anyone who just wants to have a fun day for free. They have all sorts of things set up for families with kids, you can also walk around inside and see the teams working on their cars and ask them questions. Inside the building, Shell had an area where you could build a toy car that runs on salt water and race it (you got to keep the car you built), they had a dance floor that charged cell phones, they had a tour of a tour bus that is a recording studio, they had a section where you made paper airplanes and tried to toss them into different size holes..if you got it through you got a prize (I got a wind up cell phone charger), there was a mini-golf course outside and many other things. You can view the race from the ground (along the race track/road), or from balconies (the balconies have seats). We got there around 7 in the morning and stayed until 6 or so that evening, not leaving once. I really had a great time! I would thoroughly suggest this to anyone who has kids or who is interested in cars and eco-cars. The cars do not go super fast but it is very interesting to watch...all of the cars are built by High School and College aged students. If you do go to the Eco-Car race, make sure to root on LA Tech!
