“Who knew Houston had such an active port”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

The boat trip is free and truly last 90 minutes. Thankfully iPhone gps works well as the location is a bit off the beaten path. Lot of activity in the port, which was unexpected to us. Would be great for families with children to see the workings of a port and the variety of boats and ships. We had a beautiful day and a boat load of tourists. Fun. Glad we did it.

“really interesting”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

This was well worth the time. Very interesting to see how the world commerce is transported. The boat was nice and crew very friendly. The cost was also very appealing...free.

“The Port is Hopping.”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

You’ll get so much more out of the tour if you read their website prior to boarding. Not only will you learn what you can and can’t take on the boat with you, and get very good directions, but the section “some of the things you might see on your tour” gives you a summery of what’s there so you have a better idea of what you’re looking at. For example, there are different boats you might see, different ways of moving things around the port, different organizations that keep the port safe, different flags under which the ships sail, even if they’re not from that country. They even list a few of the birds you’re most likely to see and give a brief history of the port. We had a blast because we knew what was going on. Take your camera. It’s free, but you must have reservations, which may be made online or by phone. This should be a must see for anyone visiting Houston.

“Best Free thing to do in Houston”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

The 90 minute tour down and back through the Port of Houston is time well spent. The tour is both interesting and enlightening. You get to see how commerce is carried on in the port of Houston. There are many big ocean going vessels to see and be up close to. Also you see tug boats, some in action. It was just a wonderful way to spend some time around some interesting stuff and it is all free. You cannot beat that.

“You get what you pay for”
Reviewed December 11, 2013 via mobile

The best thing I can say its free. It's a difficult place to find at gate eight. That gate has no sign for the boat (that we could spot) and looks like a standard commercial entrance. Depending on the time of day, there may be delays at the gate due to trucks checking in. The boat itself is nice enough. The ride covers a small part of the far upper end of the port missing all the large terminals and docks where the really large ships go. But it does give you a small idea of what a working port looks like from the water. Overall, nothing special but an ok way to spend half a day.
