Best chicken fried oysters I have ever eaten! A must try appetizer. The service is impeccable and dining outdoors on a beautiful day or evening is a great experience. The Kobe burger was delectable and the crab cake was outstanding.

We wanted to try a new spot for Sunday brunch and hit the prize with this lovely spot on South Shepard! The restaurant has lovely modern and comfortable decor with a nice patio. They had bottomless Bloody Marys to offer, we didn't take the offer but given another day, maybe!! My favorites were the chicken-fried oysters, i could have eaten much more, the divine chicken pot pie and sticky toffee pudding. The muffins came with a delicious jalepino jelly - wow. We are adding this to the regular list!

Branch Water Tavern has several unique dishes that are exquisitely prepared. The restaurant is small and classy. A great retreat from the usual hub bub. The wine list was huge but we chose to sample the beers which had many that you don't find anywhere else. The crispy olive appetizer or chicken fired oysters were excellent! The entrees were also uniquely prepared. The server was friendly and helpful. A lovely place to entertain friends or business associates!

Made a reservation through Open Table. When we arrived we learned that there was a private wine tasting party scheduled so we were turned away without an apology. Had a great meal at Lorenzo's.

We went to Branch Water Tavern after reading all the reviews that were very positive. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and very nice. The music was extremely loud so it was hard to hear anybody talking next to you. Since this was voted one of the more romantic places in Houston, I was surprised it was so loud. Its a very "see to be seen" place. The food was average- I had the rotisserie chicken and it was very uninspired. My husband's food was way better, though. He had the salmon with corn pudding. My friends seemed to enjoy their meal. If you know anybody who likes whiskey, they have a huge selection. One of the biggest I've seen at a restaurant. The wine menu was ok.
Overall, I'd probably not visit again. Was not blown away by anything.
