“A lovely stroll”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

2.8 miles of trail and a canopy of trees takes you around the college and along lovely, established neighborhoods. The small but interesting farmers market on Tuesday afternoons is a fun stop.

“Great way for getting around the area”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

We stayed within walking distance of this trail with family over Christmas and New Year and visited this trail many times both on foot and on cycles. Absolutely super.

“Convenient trail right in the city ..”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

A well surfaced track, and a good distance: essentially 3 miles, or multiples thereof, which are classical racing distances. Well shaded, pretty setting. Main issue is that there are a number of exits from the carpark, where you need to be cautious, not so easy the third time round and tired! Track is a bit narrow, and can get busy. Memorial park wins, though ..

“Great trail”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

This is a great trail that's very convenient for visitors staying in the Medical Center area. The loop is almost 3 miles long (it's closer to 2.9... splitting hairs, I know). To add length without running in circles over-and-over you can add the Hermann Park loop to your run by crossing over Main St / Fannin.

“Easy and scenic and shaded”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

The track/trail is crushed gravel and dirt so easier on the knees than concrete. The impressive trees provide shade for most of the track. Length is just under 3 miles. A longer run can be done by laps or veering into the nearby Rice Village (shopping area) or Hermann Park or the museum area or even by running the bleacher steps at the football stadium (when the gate is open). The track is usually always populated and serves as the perimeter for the campus of Rice University so the setting is perfect and set in a nice, safe, residential neighborhood. Not well-lit at night so you have to be careful about tripping over the few tree roots that jut into the track. After a heavy rain, the track can be muddy, but runners can run around the puddles easily. Terrific place for a leisure walk or any other pace. Both my husband and I run here 3-4 times per week all year long. I don't know how to answer the bathroom, parking, stroller Q's since I walk over to the track from home.
