What a wonderful art gallery. Coming from Europe we are spoiled, but this was exceptionally good. Especially the Impressionist paintings donated by Audrey Jones Beck. Wonderful. Great little cafe.

Two Buildings separated by a tunnel of "art" under a street. In one is the Indian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, artifacts, even an Iranian fine rug. In the other, Greco-Roman antiquities, Modern, American, and European masters -- virtually every "name" you can think of after the very early period (say, Fra Angelico is missing). Apart from New York, this is a collection very few U. S. cities could rival. At some times, very light portable chairs are offered, along with sketch pads and materials, so that one can comfortably contemplate, and even take notes and try to reproduce parts of, the exceptional works (this in addition to the benches, which I found a bit sparse).

2 buildings, both three stories. Thye have a good rotation and something for everyone. My husband and I prefer the paintings to the other arts, but there is something for everyone.

You're really missing out if you don't take the time to see all the masterful pieces on display here. Varied subjects and mediums, all wonderful.
