“Great place to run when you are in town!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2014

The 3 mile loop is very well maintained, and a great place to run when in town on business. Lots of other runners, very safe and friendly.

“I felt safe running”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013

As a lone female, I felt safe running in the middle of the city. Not much to see. I didn't mind the number of runners, but the entire trail is next to the roadways and there is a lot of traffic.

“Hordes of people”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2013

Memorial Park is an open place with trees where Houstonians, thousands of them, come to walk and run. As parks go, it is decidedly ordinary and relatively featureless. It is often really crowded and finding a place to park a vehicle can be challenging. Why it is such a massive draw while another big park, Hermann, is largely ignored and frankly much nicer is something I have never understood. If you are looking for solitude, this isn't the place.

“Jogging, tennis, golf”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

This park suffered greatly from the loss of trees a couple of years ago but is regaining its beauty. The jogging trail is the best (a legacy of Enron when it was a community leader) there are tennis courts and a golf course.

“Still one of the Nations Top Running Loops”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

I was recently back in Houston on business and a highlight of my trip was the 3 mile loop around the Golf Course and Tennis Center in Houston. A well maintained and wide compacted and crushed gravel track is easy on the legs and feet while the sights are easy on the eyes. Runners and walkers are respectful and friendly and there are no bikes allowed. You can even get a locker and shower at the Tennis facilities. A great place to run if you want to avoid lights and cars. There is plenty of free parking. People are always coming and going. There is also a high level of security. Obey traffic signs. Memorial park is right in the center of everything in Houston.
