No hot water in the room all day. No heat in the confrence room all day. Did not book at promised rate. Book attendees off site when the block of rooms had not been filled. The hotel was clean even thought they were in the middle of a remodel. I slept so well I think because I was freezing cold all day and exhausted!

This hotel has a great staff and terrific location in the heart of the business district. The rooms are a bit dated at present but they are working to fix that now (1/28/14) so I am betting it'll be even better soon. I will be back for sure!

We only stayed one night. We were greeted with the Valet service, so no worries about parking the car. Then went right in to check in. We were greeted there by a lady with a friendly smile. She made us feel very comfortable as we began to talk with her. They were out of cookies at the time, but she made good on it when we checked out. We had a warm wonderful cookie waiting on us. The bed was very comfortable and it had a BIG TV and nice AC/Heating system. Very quiet sleep. And the price was great!! For exceeded our expectations. I would stay again!!

I liked the hotel and my room. The only things I wished they had: -Free in-room wifi -mini fridge in my room -microwave So other than this, everything else was perfect. The staff was extremely friendly. They accomodated all my needs. The food was also excellent.

This Doubletree is a pretty standard business hotel - it has good amenities and a nice bar. It is not too inconvenient for downtown Houston if you can't get a decent rate in town but you obviously must rent a car - the drive took me like 10-15 minutes and I did rely heavily on my phone's GPS. The free breakfast for Diamond members was so-so, the usual handful of warm standards and oatmeal, pastries and cereal. Main drawback of this hotel comes when you are hungry in the evening. The bar has a very limited menu and the restaurant where breakfast is served is not open for dinner (at least when I was there it wasn't). There are no other restaurants nearby within reasonable walking distance. Another thing - the parking garage is oddly laid out - lots of little dead ends and strange passages - and you have to go up a couple of narrow escalators to get to the lobby, which can be trouble if you are pulling a wide rolling suitcase. I probably wouldn't stay here again if I could get a room in downtown Houston but if you need to be in this area outside of downtown it is a pretty good hotel.

From check-in to check-out, nearly everything about the Doubletree was exactly as one would want. Staff was always helpful and kind (including the hotel bartender!), the room was clean and everything worked as it should and it was quiet and cozy. Only small nitpicks: Parking here is expensive, considering how odd it is (quasi-shared lot with the megachurch next door), and in-room Internet seemed pricey to me. Otherwise, exactly what one would hope for in a hotel.

The room and staff were very nice. We enjoyed the stay. We did not know beforehand that we would be charged for parking. Also there was some construction going on. It was only during the day and evening hours and I'm sure that was only temporary. Also when we brought our bags up from the parking garage, the escalator going up was not working, so we had to walk up the escalator carrying our heavy bags. That wasn't so great, but we did like the room. The view was nice, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were all very courteous.
