No working Phone or alarm clock, broken toilet seat all took multiple requests for attention. The last straw in deciding to share the poor experience was needing to threaten a call to the Health Department to get them to wash our car parked under a brown water pipe when it burst. Then they woke us up at 11 pm to update us the wash was complete! We will find other accommodations in future.

I did not stay at this hotel; however I did attend a meeting there. First of all all of the staff seems to be very helpful although only about 95% were very friendly. The parking is horrible. Repeat: The parking is horrible. Parking is undergound and there is a narrow ramps that lead to the underground parking. Your best bet is to valet park. These guys are very friendly plus it only cost $12 to valet. That is almost more than the cost to park vehicle yourself. The location is next to Lakewood Church and surrounded by several restaurants.

Room Tip: Valet Park

The location was good and the hotel has potential but is in need of repair. Conference food was very good. The staff was very accommodating and made the stay pleasant. Valet parking was good and punctual.

Nice hotel but SO noisy I was sleep deprived upon leaving. Even paid more for a "private corner room" in advance because I went there to rest...The street corner would have been less noisy. The walls are so thin. Good place to stay if you dont care about rest and just want somewhere to lay your head. Oh and breakfast was good at the hotel.

This is a great location, and it is well run. The whole experience was grand. The staff is attentive, and very helpful. The valet parking was convenient, and timely. You can access all of Houston from here.

The Doubletree is a fine hotel in a great location. Right next to Lakewood Church and just a shuttle away from the Galleria and Village. There are free shuttles to the Galleria and anywhere within a 3 mile radius. The pool is located in a not great location. Right on the side of a fairly busy road and it is outside and fairly small. The service was excellent. The people at the desk were prompt and cordial. The room would be my biggest problem. We were located on the 11th floor and it was neat and had a nice view of the plaza. The beds were hard as a brick and the sheets were stiff and cheap feeling...scratchy. There was some attempt made to soften this bed by putting a feather mattress on it, but it was completely flattened, so it didn't help. The pillows were also poor quality. The fancy euro pillow was extremely firm and obviously just there for looks. The sleeping pillows are tiny and fibrous, not soft and fluffy. It just reminded me of a cheaper hotel once inside the room. We did not eat in the restaurant or drink at the bar. THe shuttle was very accommodating and quick to pick up when requested!

Room was clean, was decent sized and the beds were comfortable. Rooms and the common areas on the guest room floors are a bit dated.

The location is great, 5 minutes to just about everywhere we wanted to go, including the Galleria and museums. The staff was extremely friendly and it was nice to have a Starbucks in the lobby.
