I stayed for three nights whilst visiting a patient at the children's hospital and the location was perfect, rooms were clean, large and quiet.

My only criticisms are 1) I arrived late at night and couldn't get a drink or anything to eat and 2) the shop in the hotel didn't open on a Saturday.

A no brainer for anyone visiting or being treated at the hospital.

Julia,

Thank you for your kind feedback regarding your most recent stay at the Rotary House. I am delighted to hear that you were pleased with our property’s rooms, location, and cleanliness.
The Rotary House staff is dedicated to meeting and exceeding our guests’ needs. For our late night arrivals, we offer a “Light Night Bite” at the front desk upon request.
Also, under the circumstances that Market Best is not open, please feel free to stop by the hostess stand at The Oaks Restaurant and they will be more than happy to assist you with any items from the shop.
We look forward to having you as our guest in the future and thank you for taking the time out to write a review for us.

Best Regards,

Bruce Snyder

We have been staying here three days every week for the past 10 weeks. This is really a no-brainer for MD Anderson patients. The convenience of being able to go directly to your room after cancer treatments is worth any negatives of the Hotel itself.

Having said this, the Hotel needs updating. It is managed by Marriott and it is furnished and designed like a 1980/1990 Marriott Hotel. It is almost always full with patients and has seen lots of wear and tear. The furnishings, carpets, bathrooms and appliances need to be replaced and the rooms need to be remodeled to bring them up to current Marriott standards. The climate control is antiquated and very difficult to adjust. Effort is being made to keep things clean, but old worn carpets, leaking toilets and dripping faucets make that very difficult.

The restaurant has buffets daily, both for lunch and dinner. They also have a la cart service and the room service menu is the same as the restaurant menu. The food is ok, not great and not bad. It is institutional food and tends to have a similar taste no matter what you order. The buffet choices are leaning a lot towards red meats and fried foods. The salad bar is extensive and fresh. It would be good to have more healthy choices on the hot buffet.

If you opt for the king suite ask for a room that ends in 01,02 or 37. The other bed rooms are too small and there is only one nightstand.

Use self parking $7 vs valet $15. See note below in the tip section.

Room Tip: Rooms run from about $110 to about $180 for a king suite. The two room suites are more convenient f...

It is really conviniemt to stay at the rotary if you are visiting MD Anderson. The hotel is directly connected to the hospital. The hotel has a shuttle which I'll take you to nearby shops, restaurants, museums and grocery shops. We got a room with a Kitchenette which had a fridge and a microwave so we could eat most of our meals in our room. The room was nice enough but the coffee machine was broken and the shower was not the best. The room had was reasonably large with a small table for meals and two sinks. There are cheaper options like the crown plaza which has a shuttle to the hospital so do not feel like the rotary is the only workable option. The bottom line is the Rotary is a nice hotel with a gym, wifi and activities but it is a little expensive.

We've spent 3 weeks here over a period of 3 visits. This hotel is very clean, centrally located to the medical centers, and has easy access to several nice restaurants. The pool and its tranquil atmosphere is the best we've ever experienced in any hotel. The gym is superior with extra amenities for guests. Live entertainment in the lobby can't be topped. This is a very accommodating hotel. If we were to return, we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: The suites with the kitchen are very convenient and saves on eating out as much.

We have stayed at this property many times, and always appreciate the proximity to MDA most of all. It's nice to be able to just walk 'home' when you're done with a long day of testing/apptmts! They also have a terrific pool/workout facility and cozy bar/restaurant on-site. We won't stay anywhere else now when we go to MDA.

As the title said, there are no other substitute for the convenience of staying in the Rotary House if you're a patient of MDAndeson cancer center. The convenience of staying in the middle of the connected fully covered bridge to Main Hospital and May Clinic is unbelievable helpful. The cost is actually much cheaper than Marriott, Hilton or Wynham. The hotel is beautiful, very nice lobby, patient services, business center with computers and printer, Mayfair room lounge to relax and watch movies, heated indoor pool, hot tub, nice gym with cold towel, water and fruit basket. There is even lab in the hotel to take blood test, etc. There is complimentary shuttle to shopping restaurants, and zoo and museum within 2 miles radius. Staff is courteous and accommodating..As we need to extend our stay, they do meet our need. As long as you're (or relative) is an MDAnderson patient with MRN they will fit you in to the best that they could. The hotel restaurant (Oak Restaurant) is very convenience and serving variety of food and changing its buffet every night.. Besides they have plenty of outlets (pizza, pasta, sandwich, salads, bar, coffee bar, ice-cream, yogurt and gift shop). We survived our 3 week stay with Rotary House for hundreds of trip back and forth from the clinic and main hospital. Without Rotary house, the experience with definitely much more painful. We hope that you don't have to come to MDAnderson as a patient or relative, but if you do please check out this hotel.
