“Excellent service & convenient”

We've stayed at the Rotary House many times especially when there's early morning appointment or procedure at MD Anderson. Location is convenient & staff is friendly & helpful. Rooms are clean. Various activities for guests throughout the week. The only thing is a very limited shuttle service.

This hotel truly is the most convenient if you have appts at MD Anderson or the Mays Clinic. You must have an MD Anderson patient number to make reservations. Pros: A skywalk attaches hotel with the Mays Clinic in one direction and the MD Anderson Main Building in the other direction. This hotel also has special daily activities for patients and their caregivers. The pool/spa is clean and inviting and the fitness center is well equipped. There is also a patient center in the hotel that provides blood testing without having to go to the clinic. The rooms are quiet (even with adjoining rooms). The staff is out of this world, they go far beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible (whether it's the front desk, housekeeping, shuttle service or luggage carriers). Cons: It's not the most updated hotel. The kitchenette's could use an update and there are no dishes. It is almost always completely booked due to the limited number of rooms, so be sure to make reservations as soon as you are provided with your appt schedule.

Room Tip: I've only stayed here twice but I have stayed in a king, a double queen and have seen the king s...

My father is a new patient at MD Anderson and the family needed a place to stay. A friend recommended this hotel merely for convenience of access to the hospital. The hotel is connected to the hospital by a sky bridge. It leads you directly to the hospital elevators. This hospital is huge and can be confusing for newbies! You can basically park your car and never move it the entire time you are at MDAnderson. The hotel has several eating establishments... Note: only one stays open through the weekend.. But you can still walk the sky bridge over to the hospital cafeteria. The rooms aren't wonderful as they seem not to have been renovated in 15-20 years. This property is run by marriot, and the common areas like nice but the rooms are basic. The folks who are running it are helpful. There is also a shuttle service that will take you to any place within a 2 mile radius such as Target or eating establishments. If you know nothing or very little about the Houston area, I highly suggest this place regardless of the mention if needing renovating. The experience of dealing with a sick loved one should not be overshadowed by confusion of directions, safety or finding a basic meal. This hotel will make sure none of those issues are a problem. Here you are allowed to focus on your sole purpose for being in the area. I am extremely picky when it comes to travel but I highly suggest this place.

Find a home away from home at The Rotary House. The whole "Big C" experience can be totally exhausting and emotionally draining. Staying at the Rotary House is a bright moment when you or one of your family members is seeking treatment . This hotel is fine-tuned to serve the cancer patient and their families. The staff is outstanding - the location second-to-none.
The cleanliness and amenities are tops. Food of every type is readily available in and around the hotel and MDA medical representatives to serve you have offices right the hotel!. Washers, dryers,(coin-operated) - free people shuttles, free activities (such as movies) are all there to make the best of your experience as a patient of MDAnderson. Direact shuttle service (for a modest fee) from the airport right to the hotel door is so convenient. The connecting SKYWALK directly to MDAnderson from The Rotary House, free people shuttles within the complex and courteous, helpful employees are the icing on the cake. William G. My husband and I stayed in a kitchenette suite for 3 weeks in November while he was recovering from brain surgery. The hotel is owned by MD Anderson and managed by Marriott so it was a perfect blend of medical care and hospitality. The hotel is only for MD Anderson patients and their families, and the staff goes out of their way to try to make you feel at home. It is located across the street from the hospital/clinic and is connected by a skybridge so it doesn't get more convenient than that. And the price is comparable to (or less than) other hotels in the area.

The rooms furnishings are starting to look a little bit worn but I understand there is a renovation scheduled for the near future. However everything was impeccably clean. The hotel amenities include everything you would expect in a 4 or 5 star hotel (ie - pool, health club, business center, onsite restaurant, gift shop, etc.) but what sets this hotel apart is how it seamlessly interweaves with the MD Anderson complex. There is a guest relations office just off the lobby where you can get medical information, patient schedules, or even just movies to watch in your room. There is also an onsite lab for bloodwork so you don't have to go all the way to the hospital for a blood draw. And everything is handicapped-accessible from the rooms to the layout of the tables in the restaurant. And there are several quiet areas where you can go to just sit peacefully for a while. Or you can participate in the daily activities such as bingo or movie night if you want to be around people and socialize. They have truly thought of everything to make life easier for both the patients and the caregivers.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who will be undergoing any kind of treatment at MD Anderson. Being able to stay here made our lives significantly easier during a very challenging time. And the fact that you can stay someplace where nobody gives you a second glance if you are in a wheelchair with a big scar on your head easily earns this hotel a 5th star.

Room Tip: If you are going to be there for more than a couple of days it is well worth paying a little extra t...

We stayed there for 4 nights recently. We were very pleased with the hotel. It is clean, well lit, very well managed, and reasonably priced. It is adjacent to and physically connected to the MD Anderson Cancer Center, and could not be more convenient. There is a fine restaurant and gift shops, as well as several very convenient eateries. Staff are very helpful and friendly, and parking is plentiful, with valet parking available at the front door. The rooms and beds are exceptionally comfortable, and our room had a small refrigerator as well. If you need to stay at MD Anderson, even for a night, this should be your first choice.

Room Tip: There are 3 elevators so it does not matter which floor you stay on. The restaurant and connection t...

The stress of being a cancer patient or caregiver can be quite frightening, confusing, and exhausting. The massive property of MD Anderson, in Houston's Medical Center, is often difficult for "newbies" to navigate. Rotary House, a Marriot Hotel, offers covenient and comfortable lodging for individuals and families who are involved in the treatment process. Some of the valuable amenities and services I've accessed are: On-site lab for bloodwork, etc.; Restaurant and Deli; Shuttle bus; Gymn; Office Machines for guest use; Kitchenettes; Concierge services; Optional valet parking; and, a lounge area with entertainment and other activities. Although a little pricey, it is well worth the extra expense to be greeted by professional staff who are warm and welcoming. The skywalk to the clinics and hospital provides security and comfort. After numerous stays at this hotel, I highly recommend it to anyone undergoing testing or treatment at MD Anderson or the Texas Medical Center.

Room Tip: After numerous trips, I've never had any significant problems with my room. Minor problems were...
