Hampton Inn Houston-Brookhollow

Stayed at the Hampton Inn for one night as we were passing through. Although it is near the highway we never heard any noise. The outside of the building suggests that it might be an older hotel but you couldn't tell that from the inside. The rooms were clean and comfortable, very typical of what you'd find in all Hampton Inns. Internet service good. Easy location to get back on our route the next day. Plenty of chain restaurants in the area to pick from. All in all, a good, dependable stay.

I've stayed here several times, the main reason i come back is because of the quiet. I stayed on the first floor and never heard a neighboring room or the people aboove. The ceiling appears to be concrete so that might explain some of the quiet. The bathrooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. There is an exercise room with good quaility treadmill, bicycle and stair climber. The exercise room also has a floor unit air conditioner to keep it from getting stuffy. The hotel is next door to a pappas bbq restaurant and there at least 6 or 7 major chain restaurants 5 minutes away (you have to drive down the feeder road and make a u-turn to get to them). The staff is very pleasant and everything is kept up nicely.

Standard Hampton Inn hotel. Nothing fancy, but in nice shape. Even with the freeway right beside the hotel, my room was very quiet and comfortable. The exercise room was quite hot and small.

This was our first experience with a Hampton Inn. We stayed here one night on our way thru Houston. This property was very conveniently located off the main highway we were travelling on on our way to Austin. Noise was not a problem. There were plenty of restaurants very close to the hotel. The hotel itself was very clean. I am very picky about the cleanliness issue, and I was very pleased with this hotel. I asked for a room with a sofa and table for work that I had to do that night that required a large work area. I was asked what floor we preferred - however, the first room we were given was not the type of room I had asked for. However, we were allowed to move immediately, and also to give an o.k. for the room before we moved into it. The bed was super comfy and clean. There was free bottled water for guests at the front desk and also in the room. We had a very good night's sleep. The breakfast was very good - the usual assortment of hot and cold foods, and the employee overseeing the breakfast was extremely pleasant and very accomodating. (It was also her birthday - March - hopefully mgt. will see this and give her a shout out !) Check in and check out was easy and quick.

As I stated, this was our first experience with a Hampton, and based on that night, it has not been our only stay with Hampton Inns since. We have stayed at others and been similarly pleased. It was a very pleasant experience after a long and nerve-wracking day of driving. I recommend it.

Stay here regularly when in Houston.
They have great rates and is a wonderful mid-level hotel.
Usual Hampton Inn quality/standards.

Very good location off 290 in NW Houston. Easy to get to. Takes 15-20 minutes to get downtown.

Restuarants all over the place near for a meal.

Plenty of free, self-parking available.

Ask for a room toward the back of the hotel to avoid Hwy-290 road noise.

I stay at a lot of Hampton Inns for business travel and this one was right on par with most others. The exterior appeared that it may be a slightly older Hampton Inn, but inside it didn't feel that way. My room was maybe a tad smaller than other Hampton Inns, but it was still adequate and clean. There are nearby restaurants on both sides of the freeway and a couple right next door. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Like the previous reviewer stated, it's located in a nicer area compared to whats nearby- just a couple exits southeast of here it gets a little shady, but I felt totally safe. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and there was nothing to be disappointed about, other than a small fitness center with below average equipment.

My wife and I spent (1) night at the Hampton Brookhollow on June 25th, 2005. This hotels offers great weekend rates, as low as $48/night (before tax) using an AAA discount. We weren't sure what to expect with a rate this low, however the hotel turned out to be very nice.

This Hampton location is older but has clearly benefited greatly from the Hampton modernization over the last few years. The bathroom appeared to be redone, wireless Internet was available throughout the hotel, and the TV featured interactive guest services with movies, video games, and express checkout. The room was in good condition and the mattress was very comfortable. The pillows and pillowcases appeared new – also part of the Hampton modernization. On the first floor, the hotel features a small workout room with a treadmill, stair machine, and stationary bike. Outside, the hotel has a small, no frills swimming pool that appeared very popular with the many families staying in the hotel the night we were there. It’s surrounded by some lounge chairs and tables.

One nice feature that I haven't seen in other Hampton hotels was a single cup coffee machine in our room (#224). The hotel even supplied special pre-measured filters that were designed to fit into the machine. Very cutting edge and very convenient as compared to having to brew a full cup.

For those looking to stay in Northwest Houston on 290, nothing between 610 and the Beltway is in a very good area. However, if you had to single out one reasonably nice area, this would definitely be it. The hotel is in a cluster of other mid-price hotels (i.e. Crowne Plaza and Red Roof in on west side of freeway) and directly next to door to a Luther’s BBQ restaurant. Across the freeway, there are a variety of other hotels (namely those in the Marriott family) as well as a bunch of other restaurants (Pappasito's, Logan's Roadhouse, Whattaburger, etc.) and a movie theater.

Overall, my wife and I were very satisfied with the Hampton Brookhollow and wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.
