I stay here when I come to Houston on business. They are always super nice and the hotel is quiet. Great location mintutes from everything but you feel like you are in paradise. I am always sorry I don't stay longer when I am here, staff is great and very friendly. My favorite hotel in Houston. Will always try to stay here when I visit

Having stayed in the Westin Oaks in the first leg of my trip, and then choosing to stay at the St. Regis in the 2nd leg. The difference in quality lay in the quality of the staff. Very friendly people at the St. Regis that go out of their way to help. From the valet staff, to the front staff, to the bell boy, to the cleaning lady. Front staff also extended my room to 3pm with no extra charge. I recommend you go with a high level room, to get the great view outside.

After reading the unglowing reviews of the JW Marriott at the Galleria, and seeing that the Westin was over $300 a night, I checked out the hotels in the area on Hotwire. I saw a 5 star property for under $300 and booked it for the one night that we were in Houston. The St. Regis is a very nice property...nice pool, nice restaurant (pricy, of course), good sized rooms. But here is the problem. This whole area is starting to show its age, and the St. Regis is no exception. The problem was the air conditioner. It ran constantly, but could not remove the humidity in the room. In fact, my paperwork in the room became soggy. Yes, I know Houston is humid and hot. However a newer unit would be able to handle the humidity. It was also on the noisy side. Service was good at the St. Regis, but just be aware of the problem that we found with the air conditioner. BTW, if you want to go to Williams Tower or the Galleria Mall, it is not walkable. The hotel has a car that can take you there. If you see on Hotwire a 5 star property in the Galleria area, this is the place as it's the only 5 star hotel in the area.

Room Tip: Room 222 overlooked the parking garage, but, hey...this was a room booked on Hotwire.

Will be going back...

valet parking is expected, but not required because you can self park across the street, but if you stay at the Regis, why self park :)

staff was awesome, they were attentive, took care of all your needs, and even though I had just one bag, they offered to bring it up...

stayed on business..

work out room was great... overlooking the pool...
bar was awesome, and the drinks were great also.

definitely will go back again.

Your comments following your recent stay at the St. Regis Houston are much appreciated.
Yes, valet parking is required to park at the hotel, which is standard for any major city hotel.

A great deal of our associates are very long-tenured at the hotel and desire only to provide fantastic service to all guests and we appreciate your recognizing that.

First, this is a an upscale and very busy hotel geared to the business traveler. If you are looking for a luxury hotel for pleasure, try the Hotel Granduca or The Houstonian, both about a half mile away and both with nicer facilities.

The building is older and could use a facelift. The rooms are dated and of a standard size, more like a Westin than a St. Regis. The bathrooms are small with a single sink and combined tub/shower. The bathroom door wouldn't open all the way because it hit the tub. No air vent in the bathroom combined with the low ceiling made if feel like a sauna every time someone showered. And who charges $10.99 a day for Wi-fi access anymore? The best service was from the bellmen and valet, who were all friendly, efficient and what you would expect from St. Regis or the Ritz.

We stayed on a weekend, so everything was more relaxed and the prices are lower. Perhaps because we booked our deluxe room with points, our room was lacking. The view was of a construction site and the train track, the carpet was pulled, the mirror was discolored and the bed, oh the bed, was so awful we called at 8 a.m. on Saturday and told them we had to move. It was hard, lumpy and literally had a large indention in it. Heavenly bed, not a chance.

Our second room faced the front of the hotel, which was nicer. They told us the bed was new and it was much better, except the 2 piece base of the king bed was not aligned properly, so one side of the bed was slightly taller. We didn't even bother trying to get it fixed at 11 p.m. This room was at the end of the hallway, which was a great improvement in noise level. The noise from the hallways, particularly the doors opening and closing, was really bad in the first room.

Breakfast in the restaurant was nice, but no better than the multitude of great places within a half mile.

We travel often and always stay at 4 or 5 star properties across the country and this property does not come close to Ritz Carlton, Fairmont, or Four Seasons. Compared to the other luxury properties here in Houston, the St. Regis is simply not a good value.

Room Tip: Avoid 806, awful bed

Thirty dollars a night to park your car, no coffee making facilities in your room, so I went downstairs to get a coffee and was charged five dollars, that is a disgrace as most upper class hotels either have Kirin machines in the rooms, or free coffee in the lobby.
We also paid fifty dollars each for high tea, the scones are kept warm in a stainless container and so are therefor soggy when you get them. Do not waste your money as all they do is take.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the St. Regis Houston recently.

I regret that you found the overnight parking charge to be excessive but it is in keeping with any
metropolitan luxury hotel anywhere in the United States. We do not have coffee machines in the guest rooms as in keeping with luxury service we prefer to provide that service to our guests personally. However, there is complimentary coffee and tea available in the lobby every morning.

We loved the St Regis here. It is located in a quiet area in uptown, yet within walking distance of a convenient Target store for daily needs. The hotel was not a let-down to its brand, like the previous Houston hotel we were in, and it was such a relief to move here where everything was as expected: warm and excellent service (thank you so much for being able to provide a kettle for the baby, which seems to be a problem for some other hotels!), wonderful finishings and luxurious, comfortable rooms, prompt and wonderful housekeeping (including the expected turn-down service).

We had a slight problem with the internet service, which kept logging us out and re-charging us, and also thought really, in this day and age, should internet not be free anyway? This was resolved without dispute by the front-desk and the extra charges reversed...

We didn't use the spa but really enjoyed the 24 hour room service with really good food and also the Remington Restaurant.

We were glad to have chosen the St Regis over the Four Seasons as well because our preference would be to stay in Uptown.

We wish someone had told us about the timing for the complementary car to a 3-mile radius of the hotel though. We had read the website and thought it was still a car upon request anytime to downtown, but were told otherwise when we were there.

Room Tip: We booked through American Express and were offered a room upgrade to a suite, which was very genero...

Thank you for choosing to stay at the St. Regis Houston, the best address in Houston and it was a pleasure to read that we exceeded your expectations with regard to service. I was pleased to read that the internet charges were addressed at the Front Desk before check-out and I apologize for the inconvenience.
