“Superb”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

A wonderful collection nestled away in a quiet part of town, the Menil Collection is a must-see for tourists and locals a like. Whenever I have a few extra hours in Houston I try to stop by and wander through the grounds, visit the chapel, and stroll the museum. The museum layout makes it seem intimate despite the large variety of the collection. Staff are knowledgable and friendly.

“Modern Art in a Spectacular Setting.”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

Has to be one of the, if not the, most beautiful museum buildings. If you like the history art and like to follow its progress, this museum shows you the way. Recognize that it is heavy on modern art. And the Rothko Chapel, on site, is a destination venue for fans of his art. Many will be more taken with their memories of that chapel than they were during their visit - it is a contemplative place.

“Good place to spend an afternoon”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

Spent an afternoon here between medical tests and doc visit. Very comprehensive collection. . .but not for kids, I'd think. They might be bored. Loved the architecture.
