What a superb Dino Display!! Plus all the Engineering information. Chemistry section is a bit tired looking but Im sure it will be updated.

I've been wanting to see the planetarium for years. Glad we made a day of watching 8 shows!! The only thing is, I will not be watching the Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon. Too much movement and started to make my husband & I sick. Only stayed about 7mins. Then we walked out. Not something I will be doing ever again.
The butterfly exhibit was really nice. Lots of neat things to look at. Beautiful creachers.
We will be attending this again soon

We revisited the museum that our kids so enjoyed growing up near Houston. It was still a great experience for us adults.

If your children are above the age of 10, the is probably the best choice for you, and if you don't have kids, it works just as well. I would say if they are under 10, the Children's museum is a better bet.

We have had a family membership at the museum for several years and enjoyed it. Living in Houston we visited this museum on school field trips all the time, but generally just to the IMAX and the general exhibits, never the traveling special exhibits. Which are always the ones you want to go back and see, and in my opinion are always worth it.

The next Dino exhibit hall is well done, with tons of information for those who love details, and well set up for those who just like to stroll through.

It is dark, yes. A lot of museums that display actual historical or scientific items will be. - Ever seen the actual Star Spangled Banner? They keep it in the dark and when lit its low light - Dim lighting is better for preservation of a lot of items they have on display through out the museum so the Gem Hall, and parts of the new Paleo hall will be darker than some other museums you will be in. If this bothers you, try the Children Museum, the Art Museum or even the Health Museum.

The Planetarium and the IMAX always have rotating shows and they try to cover a variety of interest so that everyone in the group can find something at the Museum they like.

Overall for the space they have to work with, and the price of admission - which will vary depending on the traveling exhibit you got to see, who's price will vary based on the exhibit not the museum itself- I think its well worth the cost and time.

It was a indeed a unique opportunity to journey through the evolutionary process within a space. A great collection of archeological finds!
