“Perfect bar bites before heading out Downtown”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

We were heading to a basketball game, so we decided to duck in from the inclement weather to grab a drink and a quick bite before the game. We sat at the bar and were promptly greeted and offered drinks.

Since we were in a moderate rush, we opted against ordering a full meal and instead focused on appetizers and drinks. We split the corn and bacon chowder, which was delicious. I had the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, which was more than enough food for me. My wife had the Mushrooms with Mozarella, which she also said was delicious.

You also never know who you'll meet...we struck up some conversation with the gentlemen next to us at the bar, who happened to run Hotel California tequila.

It was excellent food and wonderful conversation before heading out to brave the elements en route to our basketball game. We will most certainly be back.

“no so good”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

My husband and I treat ourselves to a good steakhouse a few times a year. Unfortunately vIc and Anthonys In Houston did not deliver. We had held a reservation for a month and were seated promptly in a wine room upstairs. The crabcake appetizer was wonderful but served colder than it should be. I had the red snapper and while the presentation tried to be appetizing the serving size was too large for the plate and tasted dry. My husband had the 24 oz prime steak which was cooked to perfection but the taste not there. The 2 sides we had smashed potatoes and onion rings were both awful. The wine list very good and the serving staff friendly and professional. But what is with the plastic, Denny type menus? Really cheesy for a resturant that serves lobster tails for $150.00. We expect to pay top dollar for a good meal but this one was less than memorable.

“Wow....you can't beat prime!”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

Right up there with Ruth's Chris and Capital Grille, Vic and Anthony's is a great prime steakhouse. Located right downtown near Minute Maid park, the food, service and atmosphere were all top notch. Be prepared to pay though...as you would expect. The restaurant seems to take itself a bit too "seriously", hope you get Maximilian who does his job with humor and expertise.
