Traveling east on I 40 we found ourselves in a location without many choices. We stopped here and were pleasantly surprised. I think the bill will be $54 with out tax includes the AAA discount. We are in an end unit, carpeting is pretty new, no smoking oder, and no signs of pets. Sign on the outside of the door said "no pets allowed". No complementary breakfast, we will try "The Grill" www.thegrill-groomtx.com as suggested by manager.

After a 750 mile day on the bike and it getting dark, I wasn't fussy. All I ask for is a clean room. I guess I got that though as others have stated, the sheets are a bit thin and there was what appeared to be blood stains on my sheets and the bath towel was ripped. At $57.00 dollars for a single, I have had better for less money. Clean, just a little threadbare.

Decided to stay here instead of driving all the way to Amarillo. Nice clean on the outside very clean on the inside. Has high speed Internet, microwave and fridge. Not many channels on tv. Beds are very hard but clean. Price not too bad at 60.00 for 2 people. They are NOT pet friendly at all so keep that in mind. Overall would stay again

Most independent hotels out on the panhandle are a little cheaper, but are not usually as clean and well-furnished as this one. Every aspect of the motel is up-to-date, all bathroom fixtures and finishes were well-done and modern. Nice and quiet despite being in sight of the interstate.

Room Tip: All rooms pretty much the same as far as proximity to the interstate

This is not the Ritz and it does show a bit of wear here and there. Still, it is very clean, exceptionally quiet, and the price is quite reasonable. In my book that makes this an ideal place to unwind after a long day on the road.

Though at first glance this motel looks a bit suspect, the proprietor is very nice, the rooms clean, comfortable and quiet, and the price is very reasonable. Each room has a fridge and microwave. The bathrooms were clean and the shower was great. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a classic roadside motel, not an overstuffed chain hotel. Our room had one queen sized bed, very firm and comfortable. AC, microwave, fridge, TV -- all small but more than adequate. Quiet and quite lovely, fully functional. Our dog cost $5 extra, which is more than reasonable. This would be a nice place anywhere but it is a god-send along I-40 between Amarillo, TX and Oklahoma City, OK, where options are few and widely-spaced. Recommended.

If the close-by DQ isn't enough for you, there is the elegant The Grill in Groom. peace, mjh

Room Tip: Rooms 1 through 15 are on the west (street side) and 16-26 on east (back, though slightly toward I-4...
