This place really makes you think. The statues are beautiful and any Christian would love seeing this place. They really did an amazing job.
It was raining the day we were there and it still was beautiful. Very nice gift shop also.

The gift shop is now complete and has a great selection of items,
clean restroom facilities and friendly folks to make your rest stop pleasurable. Be sure and get your camera out of the vehicle! You will need it for these life size stations of the cross.

We drove past the cross and decided to go have a closer look. Glad we did. The statues are so life like it gave me shivers. The whole site is so well done, not at all tacky. It was well worth the visit. The gift shop is worth a visit as well. Beautifully presented.

This was an amazing sight to see. You can see the Cross from miles away so you know it is going to be big...but when you see it up close, it is an amazing, powerful sight. The large Cross is in the middle with the "Stations of the Cross" circled around it. All of the visitors that were there were very quiet and respectful, it was peaceful and beautiful. There is a bookstore with a large selection of Christian books, music, and art and restrooms. The chapel was still under construction but it will be nice when it is finished. Plan to spend some time when you visit, as it takes awhile to read everything at the “Stations”.

You see it like a tiny dot about 10 miles in the distance. White as snow.. If you have been there before you know where to look. You watch the horizon for it. The Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
It grows larger and larger as you get closer to it. Then there it stands looming, this HUGE 190 ft tall white cross. It's like it almost becons you to come rest for a while. It's peaceful. You can't help but stand in awe of this wonderous creation. There are the Stations of the Cross around it's perimiter. Beautiful creations giving mind prevoking thought about the life and death of Jesus. Remembering that by His wounds we are healed.
My family and I stop here everytime we travel to the midwest. If possible going both directions to and from. There really aren't any words to describe this place. At least none that seem fitting.
I recommend this to all people. My family and I will continue to stop each time we go through Groom, Tx
