The fried green beans and guac made at the table are a great way to start dinner. After apps, the meals are big enough to share with kiddos, not worth buying their own meal. We love to bring Texas visitors here. The menu is arranged by the various geographic regions of Texas, which gives everyone a chance to expose themselves to different types of food (texmex, bbq, coastal, hill country, etc). Beware Texas peppers are hotter than peppers elsewhere, verify with the server the heat of the dish you order if you didn't grow up here.

The food is good, big Texan portions. It's a very big restaurant, with concerts almost every weekend. Try the Pecan Pie, which comes with icecream, it's amazing :)
You can also stay late for a beer by the bar, they only serve food until 11 PM. Staff is nice and give good recommendations for first-timers. Steaks are a bit pricy, but they are huge.

We went there on Sunday afternoon and was pretty dead, no music, freezing A/C... We ordered the all-you can eat ribs special (beef) and they were super tasty, not much meat on them so the waiter had to keep refilling our plates. The side of guacamole was on the small side but it was made by our table with fresh ingredients. We also had one of the steak options and was cooked as ordered and very tender.
Poor choice of wines. (all from Texas)

I would give it a higher rating if it were not for the lack of atmosphere or poor selection of wines since their food is pretty good and affordable (All you can eat ribs at $15)

During our move from Georgia to El Paso, Texas, we decided to stop by for some famous Texas BBQ. We are military family, we have lived in many states and countries and this is the first time I have ever encountered such blatant racism. Our hostess sat us far away from everyone in the main dining room and then proceeded to seat other families in the main dining area afterwards. When we asked the manager the reasoning behind the seating arrangement he gave us a bogus answer. The food was ok but definitely not worth the price, however the portions are huge. We should have split a plate. Our waitress was also lacking in the service as it took awhile for her to notice that our drinks needed to be refilled. Never again!! Definitely better off at the other BBQ joints in the area.

I visited on a weeknight. The food was very good but their wasn't much of an atmosphere. They did have a few beer specials.
