Love and War is a real gem. We were VERY impressed. The motif is all-Texas, quite interesting. The menu is based on the many geographic regions of Texas. We were there for lunch, and ordered from the lunch menu. The brisket tacos (two) were well-sized and included Beer Beans (made with a Texas favorite) and cole slaw which wasn’t your typical slaw. Nicely spiced, the whole dish kept one in the party’s mouth pleasantly aglow for a while. The Port Arthur po-boy was large for lunch; the roll was toasted but not buttered which made it crunchy but not greasy, an excellent touch. There are three options, traditional fried catfish, blackened shrimp, or crawfish which I opted for. Was not disappointed, excellent choice. Served with beans and small potatoes that were truly outstanding. We will definitely go back in the future.
