Love and War is a real gem. We were VERY impressed. The motif is all-Texas, quite interesting. The menu is based on the many geographic regions of Texas. We were there for lunch, and ordered from the lunch menu. The brisket tacos (two) were well-sized and included Beer Beans (made with a Texas favorite) and cole slaw which wasn’t your typical slaw. Nicely spiced, the whole dish kept one in the party’s mouth pleasantly aglow for a while. The Port Arthur po-boy was large for lunch; the roll was toasted but not buttered which made it crunchy but not greasy, an excellent touch. There are three options, traditional fried catfish, blackened shrimp, or crawfish which I opted for. Was not disappointed, excellent choice. Served with beans and small potatoes that were truly outstanding. We will definitely go back in the future.

Love & War saved Valentine's Day for us. After a terrible experience and failed reservation at a restaurant nearby, we wandered into Love & War after 9 PM, found a booth in the bar and sat down. What followed was excellent service, great food, and great live music from the main room. We will just start here next time and save the trouble. Love & War is always relaxed, friendly, and offers a great drink selection and menu.

This place is huge. The tables are large and high. The service was good. The waitresses have the most sparkling belts ever. The food was great. The appetizers were yummy. Great location right by the Hilton and the Marriott and the Gaylord Convention center. I would go back.

Overall the food was average, we had prime rib.

We did enjoy the unique to us menu items. We tried and like the fried pickles.

Service was great.

A pretty standard steak house by all means except they have a lot of wild game choices on the menu. Which I enjoy as a change from what you find every where else.

The place was crowded but that may just have been because of the time of year.

Service could have been better but with large parties it can always be hit or miss anywhere.
