Tortellini Michael Angelo and Eggplant Parmigiana are rich, tasty and filling. Caesar Salad is very small portion, about the only poor value on the menu. Pasta Fagiole is good. Pre-meal bread is plentiful and fresh yet quite plain. Service once it got going was super. Ambience cannot be beat. Most entrees are in $10-15 range. Outstanding value in a wonderful setting.

(This review is of the location next to G'vine high school on Hwy 26, aka Ira Woods Ave. There is another CI location in G'vine closer to downtown, haven't been to that location yet.)

Regularly go to the downtown Grapevine location with a group of friends. They let us book the small room in the back. This place always crowded because the food is good. The salads used to be better, but they have cut back on quantity too. You can bring your own wine though and they are very gracious.

Absolutely one of the best places for Italian food in the metroplex. We were greeted at the door by the owner and were well cared for. The bread was wonderful and the house salad tomato basil dressing delicious. The salmon was one if the best ever, the steak medallions very good, and nothing with sauce was overdone as it seems to be on most Itslian restaurants. Subtle flavors and great service. What else could you want? Our family of seven had a memorable meal. We will be back a often as we can.

Housed in a small strip mall, you will be forgiven if (as I) you approach Cafe Italia for the first time feeling "What? But it got such good reviews!" Inside, though, you'd never know it had such a humble exterior. But what about the food?

I went with a party of two others. My wife had the spaghetti with meat sauce which she deemed only so-so. My son had the Veal Jerusalem which he thought was good but not great. I had beef medallions with mushrooms in a Madeira sauce. Mine was fantastic. The beef was tasty, wonderfully tender, and the Madeira was done beautifully.

It's definitely worth a try.

The food was great, I had the Veal Genovese and it was delicious. This is the sister store to the Cafe Italian on NW Hwy. It was busy but the staff was attentive. The atmosphere was very quaint. For desert we had the tiramisu which was very good as well. Also this place is BYOB, which takes overpriced wine out of the equation when the final bill arrives.
