The service was very good - friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about wines. The pistachio encrusted salmon was over cooked and salty, too much dressing for my tastes on red beet salad (will ask for dressing on the side next time), but a colleague of mine had the pork ossobucco and we agree it's delicious! Cozy dinner setting under patio bulb lights. Still fun to go when you're ready for a break from steak!

“Nice atmosphere, good food”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

We visited Zeppole with a large group. They had a nice selection of wines and provided very good service. The food was very tasty and the menu leaned toward coastal Italian food. I had the Cioppino and it was very good although it was a little lighter on shellfish and heavier on garlic bread than I would have preferred.

The restaurant is located within the atrium area of the Gaylord Texan hotel and is very scenic. We enjoyed each others company and the waitstaff kept our wine glasses full.

Overall it was a very nice meal spent with friends.

the service was great. but, the food was disappointing. i ordered 2 apps: steamed mussels and baked eggplant. the mussels were completely over-cooked and the broth was watery and lacking in flavor. the eggplants were ok but would have been better if the marinara base had a better balance of the tangy and sweet. maybe there aren't many italian restaurants in grapevine but it's hard to imagine a restaurant like zeppole lasting long in other cities...

“No Concept of Customer Service”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

Innovative menu but executed poorly. Food not bad but very ordinary and not worth the price. Service, however, was a nightmare. It started off well enough. We made sure to advise our waiter we would need separate checks from the beginning. Two of our entrees did not arrive until fifteen minutes after the rest of the party was served. At the end of the meal, our waiter brought one check. A reminder that we had requested separate checks brought an abrupt change in attitude with our waiter. It took another 30 minutes before he returned with separate checks. Only two out of 12 were correct. Those two paid with credit cards, and the waiter took the rest back. He was gone another twenty minutes then returned to go around the table and ask each of us what we had ordered. When the two who had already paid asked for their checks and cards, the waiter claimed they had never given their cards to him. It took him another 15 minutes to locate their credit cards. One of my fellow diners was charged $10 for a Bloody Mary and an unspecifed upcharge of $3.75. When asked to explain, our waiter said it was a fee for the bartender to mix the drink! The manager then advised that the upcharge was because she had "called" the liquor. We advised him that she did not; it was merely bar liquor. He refused to remove the charge or do anything at all to remedy the situation. Not even an apology for the bad service. This restaurant was a mistake I will never make again!

“Good but not great”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

Pretty run of the mill, a bit over priced.
Good for a quick bite if you do not want to leave the hotel. The steakhouse is a better choice.
