it was a bit chilly when we were here, but i plan to visit again during the summer. many families w/small kids were here, and plenty of room for playing sports. very well maintained.

We look forward to seeing you this summer and don't forget we have sports equipment for you to borrow, that way, you can enjoy our horseshoe pits, disc golf and volleyball courts. Just ask our friendly park attendants (it's free)!

Gave this a poor rating because of the condition of the beach area. Recently visited on a Sunday evening while looking for a nice spot to have a family dinner in the fresh air. That it was. We did enjoy eating by the lake. It is right on Lake Grapevine and has pretty, panoramic views. There is a ton of open space and plenty of parking spots. Easy to find, minimal cost ($5 per car). We found a picnic table in the shade (there are some shady spots, but not many) and enjoyed our family dinner. There is no store for provisions, so make sure you bring everything. There are places to tent camp. Primitive, no electric, but there is someone on site 24/7. The owner in the booth was sweet and took her time explaining what they had to offer. Used both restrooms and they were both clean and had toilet paper. The one closest to the gate is sort of an open air building...a good thing on a hot day....not so sure on a rainy one. We saw a beautiful Blue Heron land and take a water break not many yards from us and on our way out...a young deer popped out of the thicket. The Negatives..... The boat ramps were closed due to low water and there were signs posted warning to take precautions against West Nile. They have recently had samples test positive from this park. The beach needs a serious clean up. Broken glass everywhere. Water parks search your coolers, we think they should, too. We were excited to get to the water and even wanted the kids to try the kayaks, but nixed it when we realized how much glass there was to contend with. Nothing like a nice big laceration to ruin the rest of your kid's summer in the water! They stated that dogs are not allowed in the swimming areas in their rules and yet there were just as many paw prints as there were people prints. Too bad because this is a really nice spot and we would have considered frequenting more often and even imagined how fun it would be to bring friends, but this one is off our list for the summer because of the glass-filled beach. Just can't recommend this for swimming or wading/ water play with good conscience....would hate for any little ones (or big ones, for that matter) to have an injury on the beach or in the water. We might go back just to look at the lake or to picnic or maybe tent camp in the fall.

I've been here several times with just my husband and once with both of my kids. It's a cute park with nice camping spots (we've never camped there). They have a small store with provisions. Every time we've visited we have rented the kayaks. They have reasonable rates for both one seater and two seater kayaks. They provide life jackets. You can rent for 2 hours, 4 hours or all day. The employees are always nice and helpful. Their restroom is nice and clean. The whole park is clean. They had cute little ducks and turtles in the water. You can rent pedal boats there too, but we never have. We actually wanted to rent from them this week but couldn't due to all the storms. Maybe next week!

Meadowmere is a typical, small-lake, army corps lake park. Boat ramps are normal (as long as the water level is up). But not too much in the way of amenities...it would be nice if there was a Taco Truck or Beer Truck!
