Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center

Located in beautiful Graoevine Texas, (near DFW airport and most attractions) its one of my favorite places to stay in Texas. The interior is mega huge, breathtaking. Texas hints are everywhere, beautiful walking trails, some if the best restaurants in town are here or nearby. It's a vacation without having to go anywhere else. Great pools and shops too. Not to be missed.

This place is MASSIVE and awesome. Rooms are lovely, clean, comfy and spacious. Tons of food options on site - tex mex, steakhouse, italian, bar... apparently there is an amazing water park - pool on site too. Very close to DFW - maybe 15 minutes. Not cheap but perfect for a group - conference, etc.

make sure you don't get a room next to the elevator!! I had no troubles with it, but my hubby is a light sleeper and barely got any rest for the entire 5 days we were there due to the constant humming of the elevator going up and down. We were in an Executive Suite and asked to be moved but there were no other rooms available.
We were there for a conference with my husband's company and were satisfied with the property. There's a variety of restaurants (all a bit pricey, even the coffee shop, but that's to be expected I guess). There is a Starbucks about a mile away.
They have a very cute, SMALL, water park that's open in the summertime. It's not theme park sized, but it is impressive and convenient if you're traveling with kids. Other than a HUGE and might I add... AWESOME mall a couple of miles away and the Dallas Cowboys Country Club right next door, there really isn't much to do around the area. It is a drive into downtown Dallas. About 25-30 minutes to Cowboys Stadium and Six Flags.
If you've been to other Gaylord Properties, they are pretty much laid out the same... big, beautiful atrium with gardens and waterfalls, several restaurants, etc. It is really catered toward the business conferences- those facilities are wonderful. For vacation, I wouldn't go back. There just isn't enough to do. And that's why I only rated it "average".

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near the elevators!!

This hotel always amazes me! It is huge! SO, it takes forever to check in and wait for elevators and find a place to eat. It is pretty, clean and big! I would stay there again. However, I would allow more time for check in and getting around!

Over the top is the best way to describe this resort. There is really no reason to leave once your here. The room is very comfortable. The free water and Wi-Fi is a nice touch. Plenty of shopping and Restuarants on site. I heard the Waterpark was great but it was closed during the week while I was there. If you do want to see other sights in the Dallas area you will need to rent a car. There is nothing within walking distance of the resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Atrium with a Balcony!

Recently stayed here with my family. Children are 10 and 13. It is a large property and immaculate. Fun environment and plenty to do. In fact we arrived about 2:00 and had plans to go back into Dallas. But my husband and I sat down in the atrium and had an adult beverage and the kiddos ran around and played in the arcade. We decided not to drive in because the kiddos were having so much fun. And they have everything! My husband forgot his swimsuit and I forgot a cover up. We purchased very nice ones there. Kiddos had lots of snacks at every turn. We hot tubbed and ordered room service. We had a beautiful atrium view. I could not get over the landscaping. Wish we had stayed longer. 3 days was not enough.

Room Tip: Definitely an atrium view. So bright and sunny!

Overlal experience was excellent. Room and amenities were very nice. Food in the facility was good, but then I mostly experienced the conference food so I can't comment on the retraurants. FOod at Coca Bean was dull for a bistro type restaurant. Service in general was friendly and available whenever I saught it out.

Room Tip: ask for a corner room with a balcony if you have the ability to upgrade.
