“Fresh!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2014

I have been going here for about 35 years and it's still good! It is a small family owned business. The food is good quality for fast food and always prepared fresh! Prices are good, kept very clean!

“Not worth the money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2013 via mobile

We were headed home and decided on Mexican food. We put it in the GPS. It took us to this location having 4 1/2 stars. We were shocked when we arrived. It looked like an old gas station remodeled. Not letting the appearance discourage us we went in. We glanced over the menu on the wall. I asked where the restrooms were. Reply, Out back and here is the code to unlock the door. Ha! Really!? I went and the restroom was very clean and nice but badly located. We ordered our food.. Way over priced.. We sat down hoping for the home style Mexican food. It was very bland cafeteria mexican food and under portion. Seemed liked everything cost. We got 2 plates an order of chips and queso (2oz) plus 2 drinks 20$. Only one refill was free. Salsa on the table was awful. Will not go there again. Very disappointed. The sign outside said Don Juan's Romantic Mexican food.

“Fun local place with lots of history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013 via mobile

A great reminder of Grand Prairie history, before the chain restaurants or national fast food places knew where the town was.

My partner grew up in GP and we stop by several times a year for a reminder of what small town life used to be like.

The food is old-style Tex-Mex with a limited menu that is consistently good and freshly made, a tiny dining room and an almost certain chance of running into someone he went to school with.

“Avoid During Peak Dining”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

Why this restaurant is categorized as Asian is mind-boggling. It's quite obviously Mexican as the name specifies. One thing it's not, though, is romantic. It's tiny, clumsy, and everything about its interior comes off as an after-thought.

I met my wife here for lunch to use a Groupon, and this place is just an absolute zoo starting in the parking lot. Their are literally only a few parking spots, so people park on the street or in adjacent lots. They also have a drive-through that backs up into the street, which is dangerous and disrupts traffic. Inside is no better. There's nowhere convenient to wait for your meal, and you'll be lucky if one of the six or so tables is free. That everyone's food is supplied in a to-go bag is telling.

Bottom line: the food was OK but nothing special and positively not worth the hassle of peak dining. I doubt we'll ever return.

“Good!”

Nice little place. I can really see the history here. The food was ok. We ordered the nachos supreme but next time I will try the tamales. They looked delicious. I think it's worth a try.
