Owner description: Visit the most historic courthouse square in Texas and enjoy a boutique shopping experience at more than 40 unique stores and relax at nearly a dozen restaurants, bistros and wineries. Meet friends in Granbury, Texas and spend the weekend. "In the Texas Plains and Lakes region 69 miles outside of Dallas, the charming town of Granbury makes frequent appearances on "best small town" lists, and it's easy to see why. The town's historic square, lined by historic landmarks, makes for excellent shopping, and there are plenty of mom n' pop restaurants to choose from when it comes time to refuel. The beach at Lake Granbury offers a way to cool off on those hot Texas afternoons, and there's even a family-friendly boardwalk." -USA Today 10 BEST TRAVEL The FIRST TOWN SQUARE In Texas To Be Listed On The National Register Of Historic Places And Has Become A Prototype For Restoration Projects All Over America. Everyone was friendly and small time feel to it. Loved all the different shops and recommendations that everyone was willing to give on where to eat and what to do.

The shops were filled with little and big treasures for all tastes; and, the shop keepers were all friendly and welcoming. All the shops are easily accessible and the square offers not only shopping, but good food, as well.

The Granbury Historic Square always plays well for out of town visitors but those of us that live here should love it too. Great places to eat - The new Paradise Cafe, the new Bistro at the back of Christina's dress shop, Brazos Smokehouse, and can't wait to try out the new 1869 Grille. No better shop that the Pan Handler for kitchen gadgets and now the Opera House, closed for rennovation, will be playing still on the Square at the former Granbury Live location. Parking lot redone, great shops. Like living in a tourist's dream of small town America.
